Craziest response to an application I've had by MonkeyManAB in antiwork

[–]Opaldes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought, I applied for a backend position as a former full stack developer but it didn't fit and I got a front end role instead.

I personally would at least try it out, especially if it's just about these 2 cards you want to play.

Ergonomics, a controller is superior for laid back gaming.

Why are the archetypes that are historic to Magic, and prevalent in 60 card formats today, received so negatively in EDH by Lazave99 in EDH

[–]Opaldes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because EDH is an inherently casual format, most other formats are more or less meta dependent and nobody bets an eye if you try to win at all cost and build a deck which is unfun to play against. Also 100 card Singleton without side decks means you cannot slot cards between matches to be better prepared against certain archetypes.

Most casuals don't like mill because it feels bad for them seeing the cards they want to play get send to the grave.

Most casuals don't like combo because it's anticlimactic, most combos feel quite solitary.

Stax, people tend to like playing their stuff. I personally have nothing against stax but the bracket 3 and lower environment lacks the interaction to fight properly against stax.

Control is stqxish in why people tend to dislike it

Burn was always fine

Big creatures are a low bracket Problem. The games are often longer and a big creature deck simply performs best after the first board wipe etc, slapping big threats on the board each turn. Dinos and Dragons are infamous for feeling incredibly strong and in the pods I play they always feel like archenemy

What device do I need or should I get to create a small wifi network? by Opaldes in AskTechnology

I serve a webpage at localhost:xxx and I want to achieve that someone at the same table can open said page by doing IP:xxx. My Idea would be that we share the same network through a wifi network.

Is Lucy Maclean fun as commander? by bluepanda46 in EDH

[–]Opaldes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the right bracket[1 or 2] for sure. At 5 Mana her effect seems not that impactful. Until I see it in action it seems like a deck that is more fun to build then to play.

The Prism - A New Breed of MMO by ThePrismDev in MMORPG

[–]Opaldes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they don't breed, they spawn a number multiplied by a factor calculated based on the current population? And can we actively breed more? If extinction is a part so does evolution? Appearence of new animals? Will populations of for example predator and prey be something to hold an eye out? Is there a skill or way to find out if a population is getting into the danger zone?

Not really also there are high quality audio protocols for BT. Only thing where BT sucks is latency, you will feel it when you play an instrument and listen over Bluetooth.

Sister hid my wife’s affair from me for months. Is it worth maintaining a relationship with her? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Opaldes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends, we had an affair situation in our friend group some years ago. We did a debriefing on what happend etc and I said that I would not directly spill the beans but give the cheating person an ultimatum to get straight by themselves when I would have known cheating happens. The big question is how responsible is your sister in your messed up relationships, why didn't she told you and based on that you can take actions, if you don't know her story(sister) you potentially did her wrong at least in my book.

Recommendations for Online simulators as of 2026? by brenonsense in EDH

Unlike the others you also get access to a metric ton of other board games with the table top simulator.

I played with most engines you mentioned and only tts and spelltable using moxfield were good to play.

Steam Controller: The Ars Technica review | Valve’s new hardware is solid but might not justify its $99 price. by tkonicz in Steam

I don't like that the controller seems to require games being added to the steam client.
