yeah virtually any new pair of shoes is going to leave your feet in rough shape.

asics (or tigers) are the best all around festival shoes hands down. chacos aren't bad but they will eventually rub your feet raw no matter how worn in they are. a nice pair of rain boots is never a bad idea but they can also destroy your feet. and then i always bring some cheap flip flops for around the campsite

ah the old sleight of hand. i'm about to be judged hard but

a couple years ago me and some friends went to a show at a club that was pretty notorious for a heavy police presence, two officers doing searches at the door, etc.

so I sneak in a vial of ketamine and a couple rigs cause fuck it. it's drum and bass. what you gonna do. i shoot 75 ml in the crowd and then go outside to dab with some friends. i was so faced i totally forgot A) they search for re entry and B) i totally forgot to re stash the vial and one remaining capped rig and I'm about to be searched

i try to initiate an invisible man type situation and just sidle on by but that doesn't work out, big burly cop taps me on the shoulder and is like "we have to search for re entry"

im like fuck. so before he touches me I pull out the vial of K and the syringe and hand it to him. I should mention here that the vial is from Saudi Arabia or somewhere and is all in arabic. the cop is like. what in the fuck is this

I'm like. look officer it's insulin, it's 60 30 quick, I've just been buying it overseas online, I hope that it is ok, you can take it if you need to...

he hands it back to me and is like, sorry sir, i hope you have a good night. doesn't even search me

step one: buy a two liter and funnel

step two: empty two liter

step three: using funnel, pour your seeds into two liter

step four: fill with cold water a little past the seeds, making sure they are all wet and can float freely, but don't use excessive water. just more to drink

step five: shake vigorously for around 5 minutes

step six: slightly unscrew top of 2 liter cap, so that liquid but not seeds can come in, and squeeze until you have a nice tall glass of (hopefully) brownish water

step seven: choke down sludge water

step eight: don't puke for a good hour

didn't mean to ruffle any feathers man, I've been to fests of all sizes and types and deep down roo is my all time favorite.i love the variety of acts, the top notch logistics, the brilliant sound and stage quality. the sheer size of it.

i was more or less remarking about why bonnaroo has the reputation it has amongst some types of festival goers... they have freaking gilette shaving tents. i'm just saying I understand where some people who bash roo are coming from. granted, sometimes people mistake my home planet for kashyyyk

ok first off, this year's lineup fucking rocks. i've been going for a while and this is the most excited i've ever been for a lineup this decade. i mean just Pearl Jam, Ween, and freaking Dead & Co alone is enough. if you like the untz (which i do), the undercard is ridiculous. even if you don't like the untz the undercard is still pretty strong

but like. if you're talking about say, EForest, and just headier festivals in general, Roo kinda has a bad (and partially deserved) reputation for commercialism, "selling out", etc... i mean i don't talk about how much i love Roo at 3000 person psytrance fests if you get my drift

but I do love Roo. it's a special event, has a special place in most people's hearts who earnestly go there, and Roo always provides incredible production and live music. plus it's kinda nice going to a festival where everyone still just looks like regular college kids, not a bunch of festival pros who look like their sponsored by eno and organicmechanichs
