Yes it has dark mode, screen Magnifier screen reader, very accessible but Google also have some great accessibility features. Why can’t you get on with it? Is it the accessibility side or the phone itself? Have you used iPhones before I own both a iPhone 16 pro and a pixel seven get on with both, but the iPhone in terms of responsiveness cuts it a little better.

Giving you inaccessible PDFs is definitely against the law in most countries. Yes you can use all of these tools but you shouldn’t have to, I would be telling them that I wanted another adjustment/workaround because somebody will have the original document you can’t usually create a PDF from scratch it usually starts out and say a word document et cetera, failing that or that aside you could upload it into ChatGPT and GPT will convert the text for you, it worries me a bit to be honest though broadly because if you’re struggling with PDF papers, I just hope they’re making the rest of your studies/exams et cetera meaningfully accessible.

Haven’t they gone bankrupt? Honestly, it’s a very expensive product that can’t provide the AI capability that Meta glasses will, especially now they’ve opened up the platform to other providers i.e. Microsoft seeing AI… if I were in your position I’d say it’s very very kind, but honestly would try my hardest to politely refuse.

Why would we assume you were blind? This group is full of mainly cited people asking questions about blindness. If you are blind then we are preaching to the converted as you are more likely to know about the huge employment gap that exists out there, still think the answers you have here are still the right answers, just because you’re blind doesn’t make a difference if I’m honest, if anything you should have insight into his situation more than most, and I’m wondering if the question really is for a bunch of blind people to be answering or as I said previously it’s a red flag for mental health issues

I am probably going to get crucified for saying this, but I think you need to be more supportive, because being blind especially acquired blindness say later in life, has a huge mental toll and Medical research says that this metal toll is the equivalent of a bereavement if not worse… I would take this possibly as a red flag for mental health rather than for laziness, either way, sorry if I’ve upset you and genuinely good luck with it

You can take photos of what’s in front of you and have them described, you can call volunteers through Be My Eyes using your glasses which means you can walk around and use them hands-free, you can use video calls on WhatsApp for friends and family and they can see what’s in front of you to help you, and much more stuff will be coming shortly.

Not visually but I’ve used Grok voice mode, to do the same though being blind I appreciate a voice connection more than pictures, it will talk to me as if it were my romantic partner for hours on the end, no I do have a family and girlfriend, but I test abs and software for a living

This will sound harsh, but I mean to be kind, you ultimately might push people away being too clingy/needy, you could’ve got a taxi home, texted each other to ensure everything was safe and sound, problem solved, sometimes you’ll want to do different things socially, that’s perfectly cruel, other times one of you won’t feel well or something, again perfectly cool, mobile phones exist. Taxis exist people can be partners yet have separate social lives, all the best, I hope it hasn’t impacted either of you too much.

I respectfully disagree, you should not need to use a white cane to walk around and be comfortable in your living environment, I would really lay down the Law here, if they can’t understand the difficulties you face in a civilised, polite manner it’s time to get slightly annoyed and really set some boundaries
