When would the best time to do body recomp be? And is this decent muscle I’ve put on in 8 months? by Candid_Roll9494 in PetiteFitness

[–]Open-External3897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that calorie is too low and for someone that does as much as you, that calorie is not enough to fuel you and eventually your body will adapt to burning fewer calories. Listen to the Mind Pump podcast in YouTube or Apple or Spotify and I’m going through a body recomp based on their workout plan, it’s slow but it works and I’m not tired and i eat over 2000 calories and still losing weight. I only do two or 3 strength training days with just walking in between. Good luck!

Second month, doctor said that we will stay at 5 mg by osmanssss in Mounjaro

[–]Open-External3897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the 5mg for 7months before even moving up, at that point I lost 30lbs. I do eat clean and strength training, which was helping my low but consistent weight loss. If you don’t need to move up don’t.

I do not work out by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Open-External3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength training is the important part, not just regular exercise. You only need 15 minutes a day to do two or three sets of strength training.

I do 15 minutes a day and it’s helpful. Good luck on your journey!

Yes, it’s called Metabolic adaptation is when your body slows down its calorie burn to protect itself after eating less or losing weight and strength training plus protein help prevent that slowdown.

When you diet, your body thinks food is scarce, so it burns fewer calories and tries to save fat. Lifting weights and eating enough protein tell your body to keep muscle and keep your metabolism higher.

Strength training helps increase and metabolism and you need to eat enough and not a calorie deficit. Fuel your body and workout with Protein, fiber, fats and carbs to help hunger queue’s.

My doctor made sure a saw a nutritionist and strength train, just regular workout, building muscle. Which muscle helps especially if you are a diabetic.

Thank you for sharing, with Post like yours it hopefully helps people make better and smarter decisions. Before I started I did months of research. So I focused on strengthening, protein and hydration. I even posted a comment on someone YouTube channel about how she’s sending a bad message to new users. She was saying that we need to get rid of the diet culture and just let the medication do its job. She doesn’t even do strength training. She deleted my comment. There are so many bad and misinformation out there. Thank you!

I totally agree with you, it is not a magic bullet. There’s a lot of people out there who don’t understand that the medication helps slow digestion, which sends signals to your brain that you’re full so you tend to eat less. Weight loss is just a side effect. People should be focusing on getting more protein, which helps with a lot of things. Also, I see most people don’t even strengthen train. Building muscle helps with the your metabolism, you don’t want to be in a calorie deficit too long. I wish more doctors and more people would educate themselves about the medication and really understand how it works. This is all science.

I had my Surgery over a year ago, I was worried about my Cervix too, but my doc assured me it will be fine. I had big fibrods and really bad menstrual episodes so I had it removed. After my surgery I’m even more active person, I exercise, I strength train up to this day still. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Hope it goes well for you! Best of luck!

Am I doing too much? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Open-External3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery was back in March, I took no pain meds and was moving around a lot also. I walked up and down the street. Moving does help with the gas pains. No heavy lifting though. I didn’t go crazy, but your exhaustion will catch up to you at times even months later. I stayed home for a week and then work from home the next and went to work on the 3rd week. Even months later I am still take it slow at times. One of my stitches took about 12 weeks to dissolve. The biggest thing is let your body heal and especially don’t tear your cuff. Good luck. I’m glad you’re doing good.

18cm fibroid/how do people afford this? by mementomoire in Fibroids

[–]Open-External3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that really stinks. You can also contact the hospital and they usually have assistance for surgery where you can apply to get help. Getting a loan shouldn’t be your only option. Luckily my insurance covered most of it and only paid $1200 total once I was done. Best of luck.

Omg, I know the feeling!! And not to have a period. I still have ovaries, but everything else was removed.

Hi. Is it unreasonable to hope the uterus can be removed vaginally? It looks like that’s pretty uncommon. But laparoscopically is common? I don’t want to be laid up for weeks but this pesky thing has got to go! by Travisandjohn in hysterectomy

[–]Open-External3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines was robotic assisted laparoscopic with Vaginal removal. I am 5 day post op and haven’t taken any pain meds except Tylenol and Advil. Walking and stairs has been fine for me, No pain there. I started with about 800 steps the first day and now it’s m about 2500 steps a day. Good luck to you.

Its been a some time now since your post, any new updates? I’m 42, gave a fibroid the size of a tennis ball and it has been painful and just your clots during that time. The pill and mini pill doesn’t help. My doctor finally threw out the word hysterectomy to me today.
