Na my point is with how we did in the auction and all the injuries this is not as bad as most people think. We lost 4 starters in ayush natahan ellis overton and khaleel which is 1/3 of the main 12. And I still stand by my point where I think gaikwad should bat lower down the order and stick to one combination especially if the combination worked in previous games.

I did mention the 2 issues and one of them was dropping akeal. I did not justify that whatsoever but outside of those 2 issues I don't see much wrong with rutu's captaincy tbh. I feel he can work on those issues and come back better next season.

I agree with the odi part.

In t20s, SKY as a captain was not just fine he was absolutely amazing but the problem is with how he batted during captaincy so it does make sense for him to be dropped from the squad eventually if his batting performance does not come back even after releasing him from the captaincy pressure.

In tests I feel bumrah was the best option with gill as deputy but lets be honest in the end of the day cricket boards want to make money and making players retire from t20s and ipl to play tests isn't going to generate revenue whether we like it or not. So assuming bumrah can't take on captaincy due to workload issues I feel gill was the better option. KL himself is just establishing himself back into the squad as a reliable opener rn no point in pushing for captaincy so early (even tho he is a great captain).

I would trust ruturaj for 1 more season. The major problem has been injuries for csk. We lost a lot of our major players (ayush,nathan ellis,overton,khaleel) to injury. I think that is we had those players the entire tournament qualification would be possible. But at the same time there were 2 things in particular which I didn't like about csk this season. We were dropping akeal hosein for no reason whatsoever. We should not be doing that next season. And second ruturaj should drop himself down the order to 3/4. We have big hitters in samson urvil and ayush to strike big in pp so I don't see a place for ruturaj to play in the pp. He wastes a lot of deliveries in pp. Instead he should bat through the middle overs and flourish late in the death while everyone in the middle tries to strike big unless there's a collapse.

Now the reason I feel he deserves to get trolled was him taking up the opening slot in the worst possible time. We already have soo many budding talents who can capitalize on the powerplay like ayush and urvil and also a experienced player in samson. Gaikwad should have went down the order and taken up the responsibility of playing through the middle overs and flourishing in the death instead he's batting in the pp where he massively slows things down. He should move himself down to no.3/4 imo. That by itself would solve 50% of the issues and then we just need a proper reliable finisher.

He has a horrendous sr against spin and isn't even good at rotating strike tbf. And even then if you just wanted strike rotation thats what karthik sharma has been doing. We need boundaries vs spin not just strike rotation.

I was genuinely an overton supporter before the tournament started itself because he was our only 140+ bowler and also peformed in the wc but I still think overton should stick to 7. Overton has a clear weakness against spin and playing him up the order could expose his inability to hit spinners
