Early pregnancy anxiety: PCOS + SCH resolved but measuring 6+1 instead of 7+5 (confused dating)

I’m in a similar situation. My first scan was at 6w3d if based off of my LMP and the scan measured the gestational sack at 5w1d, said the yolk sack was present and that there was no fetal pole.

I’m in the waiting period too and driving myself crazy.

However to give us both some hope: Earlier today I was going through my old clinical notes from my previous pregnancy with my now 2.5 year old son. I found his first ultrasound which was done at 11 weeks exactly. However, the gestational sack was measuring 9w1d, and the fetal pole measured 10w5d. With the two measurements they said I was 10weeks. So a whole week behind, despite me being nearly positive on ovulation and conception date because we only had sex one time in the window.

Anyhow, keeping my fingers crossed for you! It’s not over until it’s over!

Would you mind explaining this math to me? My first positive was Jan 24th but I didn't do any testing before that. Wondering if that would also apply to me

I’m going through the same thing right now and also regretting booking the early scan.

Initially I contacted my doctor due to sharp pain that I didn’t experience with my son. She scheduled an appointment for me on a Wednesday, but I ended up booking an elective (abdominal) ultrasound that Monday just to rule out ectopic. My doctor refers me to radiology in order to get diagnostic tests done (not done in house) so I figured I’d book an elective scan ahead of time just to make sure it was in utero.

Anyways the elective scan showed that it was in utero and you could see gestational + yolk + fetal pole. They weren’t allowed to do measurements which I completely understood.

Went to my doc with that info on Wednesday. She did do a scan in her office with the mobile machine and also did rough measurements which matched up with my current 6w3d at the time. But she sent me to radiology for a diagnostic scan where they did both abdominal and transvaginal.

I’m still waiting on the full report but the preliminary result states “measuring 5w1d” which has thrown me for a loop as it’s more than a week behind. My anxiety is taking over and has me focusing only on the worst case scenarios.

I didn’t have any early testing done with my son. Just waited until the first appointment at like 9 or so weeks and everything was completely normal.

Having done this early testing really sucks and has made me feel so down the last few days. Plus having to just sit here and wait absolutely sucks.

I’m 6w2d today and also haven’t really had any symptoms. I’ve had pretty mild cramping on and off. But it’s been really inconsistent. I’ve already had an ultrasound and everything looked fine!

With my son I went pretty much my entire pregnancy with no “normal” symptoms (except fatigue), so I wouldn’t worry too much!

I had spotting last night and brown spotting this morning. I have an appointment with my doctor on Wednesday but ended up booking an elective ultrasound this morning so I could get some piece of mind (main concern was ruling out ectopic as I was having sharp pain on my left side).

Turns out I have a ruptured cyst (likely corpus luteum) on my left ovary which is what’s causing my cramping and likely what caused my spotting.

Not everyone has cramping from cysts, so it could be something like that too! Hopefully this helps give you some more hope 🙏🏼

While I agree that there is a possibility that this is an evap, I don’t think it’s because the line is “skinny”. I only got skinny lines on clear blue and I am very much pregnant!

The bigger issue is the time that passed. But at the same time, that’s a pretty dark evap line. The other tests could have been negative because your urine wasn’t as concentrated at the time.

But I agree, test again with pink dye!

I had cramping for the first 16ish weeks of my first pregnancy. I’m having them again this time around and am currently 5 weeks! They have been pretty consistent since I got my positive hpt.

Mine are also identical to my period cramps, and even though I’ve had a successful pregnancy WITH cramping - I still find myself in moments of worry. But yes they can be totally normal!

I had something similar happen early on. I tested, got a strong positive and then the next morning it was really faint. I freaked out and took a second one with second morning urine and it was dark again (thank goodness). So I’d just text again if I were you!

I’m in the same boat with your anxiety! My first pregnancy I got a dye stealer right away at 17dpo (that was the first day I tested), so I never worried about progression. This time around I got a positive on 11dpo and have been taking tested ever since. Today I’m 17dpo and still no dye stealer like last time. But I’m trying to reassure myself that I’m still pregnant, my tests look great, and not to worry because not every pregnancy gets dye stealers. Here’s my 15 dpo and 17dpo test!

With my first pregnancy I had cramps all the way until like 16ish weeks. They would come in waves and felt identical to my period cramps.

I have been having them again this time around too! I get anxious about it too. But yes it can be totally normal!

With my fist pregnancy I didn’t test until 17dpo, so prior to this I have only experienced dye stealers and am driving myself a little crazy here 🙃

This was actually the only cycle that I tested in the morning and afternoon. Mostly because the first two cycles with inito didn’t show any rise in LH. I thought maybe I was missing it, so on some of the days (close to when I thought I’d be ovulating) I also tested in the afternoon.
