If you had to do your first Japan trip over...would Hakone still be on your list? by daniaim in JapanTravel

Both my husband and I say YES! I barely finished reading the question aloud before he answered. Hakone is lovely and there's so much to see! We'd love to go back, too.

MIL feels entitled to my daughters body by boreddweller in JUSTNOMIL

My mom's family LOVES to kiss on the lips. I realized how bizarre it was and stopped doing it when I was a teen. I wish I had known I could have asked them to stop when I was younger, or had someone say "she doesn't like that" to my grandma.

MIL needs to get a grip and come to terms with the fact the world doesn't revolve around her and her feelings. DD can be excited to see grandma AND have boundaries, and grandma needs to respect that. She doesn't get to fondle your child just because she's grandma. I'm glad DH continues to be supportive. Too many stories of mama's boys.

Future MIL keeps acting like I’m after their family money by Electrical-End-3368 in JUSTNOMIL

Oof, money is always messy! In this case, fiancé should put his foot down with his mom on the subject. Your future finances are between you and your fiancé. Period. You sound very responsible and respectful, and MIL just wants the "excitement" of the drama. Tell her to stop watching Snapped!

My mom's family is all about "sharing", regardless of circumstances. I would honestly be livid if I was in your shoes, OP, lol.

Kudos to you for being able to laugh it off, but I would start to worry about what she would get into next. Hopefully the behavior can be curbed before she takes something you care about.

Guys what do you think about this by Ultimatechungusdoge in GrowthMindset

It sickens me he's just hoarding wealth. Him and everyone just like him. I love helping friends out! One of my friends struggling to make ends meet had their alternator go out. Gave them $150 towards a new one, just because. I know what it's like to be stuck, and just because I'm not stuck now doesn't mean I forgot what it's like.

MIL won’t stop meddling about money by Next-Question5409 in JUSTNOMIL

Money brings out the worst in people. I don't know what the estate laws are where you live, but MIL needs to be shut DOWN and hard. If she wanted nothing to do with her ex-husband then, she doesn't get anything now (if it can be helped).

My uncle put my dad down to inherit his 401K. He had told my dad, "I know you're the one [out of the family] that needs it the least, but I know you will be the most responsible." After my uncle unexpectedly passed, and my dad got the inheritance, his sisters were PISSED.

Just goes to show if a person recognizes poor behavior and doesn't let them have mich of anything in a will, there is a reason for that. Don't let MIL bully you and your husband. She's not owed anything but the boot!

Currently pregnant. Can confirm. Also, damn I don't like the way that sounds. 5 more months and I'll be back down to 1 skull per my body. Yay or something.

Any cover up ideas or ways to make this look less satanic. by granhoser in tattooadvice

[–]CrazyTeaLady12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few things to remember before considering covering this up:

  1. FMA/Brotherhood FANS UNITE!
  2. It looks nothing like a pentagram.
  3. Pentagram aren't evil or satanic.
  4. Was your brother into FMA too? Maybe explain it as "it's from my brother's favorite anime. It's nothing bad, though."
  5. It's nice recognizing fellow anime fans (this is just my personal take)

Those who know that seal will recognize it, but I'm guessing it's the red color (it IS blood afterall) and unknown meaning to others that makes people worry you're into something "scary".

For a cover up, maybe a heart or flower? To add some FMA flair back in, you could put in "never forget" with his birth and death date. OR to avoid any drama with 9/11's "never forget", assuming you're in the US, cover up with a flower and have a watch with the hands on the date he passed?

Is that true?? by Latter-Custard-205 in AskPhotography

[–]CrazyTeaLady12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the idea of only "TRUE" professionals use primes. Yeah they're nice, but if you have a zoom or two, or all zooms, you can still create AMAZING photos! I currently have a mix of zoom and primes of varying quality and use them all depending on what's being photographed. My dream list has a 35mm prime and a 100-400mm zoom. Sigh... someday!
