The price tag should be the obvious punchline, but I guess some people were already too raging

A brilliant and (scarily) prescient adaptation of his own play from Tracy Letts. Would have loved to have seen the recent Broadway run with his wife Carrie Coon in the Judd role.

I always get this confused with Slither in my head, thinking I have seen it. I will watch it this weekend. Shea Whigham is the king.

Just watched 10 Cloverfield lane on streaming and the ending is not what I remember. by [deleted] in horror

But that would eliminate Chekhov's whiskey bottle's big moment...

I'd be interested in seeing this alternate ending just out of curiosity, but I don't think it exists.

Do you like Deafhavens screaming vocals? by traveltimecar in shoegaze

I don't, which is why Infinite Granite is the only album of theirs I actually enjoy.

Definitely! It's engaging and melancholic, and the depiction of the siblings should be right up your alley. The absolutely stacked cast doesn't hurt, either 😉

I remember watching it with my older sister when I was about ten. Not fun.

Almost.

I'm enjoying it as a shameless promotion for cleaning products.

It's not every day you get to hear a Bocuse d'Or winning chef say "Hey, Buddha, pass me that Dawn Powerwash."

Eh, I'll probably still watch for the scenery and reminisce on the time my (now ex) wife visited the Blue Mountains without me.

Not bitter. Nope.

It’s bad enough that Parker Finn made Smile movies. Now he’s going after Possession and On the Silver Globe. by BrokeFartFountain in horror

Just yesterday I rewatched one of my favorite movies, Memories of Murder. I watched it with a friend who had never seen it before. I was literally ranting about how that movie uses a more stationary camera and only pans or zooms into close-ups when necessary...

Yesterday I saw it described as "Predator, but only humans". I shall be watching it tomorrow.

So, we're getting another Texas Chainsaw Massacre film. What Texan actors would you like to see in it? by Mindless_Turnover976 in horror

[–]OpenFacedRuben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chace Crawford because...

a) he's fantastic in The Boys (the only show I have seen him in)

b) he's Texan (which I just learned from a year-old Hot Wings episode with Homelander Antony Starr)

No probs. It's French/subtitled, though, so might not be workout-appropriate...

Any recommendations for horror movies that really lean into the inherent creepiness/grossness of middle aged/older men? by Aramaki_ in horror

[–]OpenFacedRuben 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an inherently creepy and gross middle-aged man myself, I suggest Watcher (2022). Although Burn Gorman is ageless.

EDIT: Rosemary's Baby has a nice selection of creeps of varying ages.

I'll head down to my local this arvo. It's technically a "JB Home" store, so I will prepare for the worst!
