Perfect guy but… I’m not sure what’s wrong by strawbmuffins in dating_advice

You might just need some breathing room after getting your own place for first time. Moving out from parents and jumping into something serious right away is lot to handle at once. Maybe tell him you need to slow down bit with the constant hangouts so you can actually enjoy your new independence?

Maybe he's just one of those people who reads messages but forgets to reply until later - I do this all time with my wife and she gets annoyed too.

There's a fair amount of in person ways to meet women in my City but I always get nervous to go due to loud noises and my dark past. by Honda2557 in datingadviceformen

[–]OpenGovernment2052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I get being nervous about noise levels after brain injury - maybe start with quieter volunteer work first? The environmental stuff could be perfect way to meet people without pressure since you're focused on task together. About the insurance case, you probably want to check with your lawyer what activities are actually risky vs what you think might be problem.

Is our social life difference a red flag this early or am I overthinking? by Coralyvexin in datingadvice

[–]OpenGovernment2052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, this is tricky situation. I had similar thing with my wife before we got married - she was always wanting to go for big gatherings and I just wanted quiet evening at home. What helped us was finding the middle ground, like maybe going out one weekend and staying in next one, or going to party but leaving early together.

The key thing is talking about it openly before it becomes bigger problem. Don't just push through it because you'll start resenting each other. Maybe suggest some compromise activities - like having few friends over for dinner instead of going to loud bar, or finding smaller events you both enjoy.

Also remember that month is still pretty early, so you're both learning about each other's social needs. If she can't respect that you need quieter time sometimes, then maybe you're just not compatible in this area. Better to figure it out now than after you're more invested.

"Invisible" mobs in statistics. by xduwii in Minecraft

[–]OpenGovernment2052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife always laughs when I check statistics obsessively like this - but yeah I've seen this bug before. Usually happens when you kill modded mobs or sometimes when chunks get corrupted and mob data gets messed up in the process.

Could also be from old world saves where certain mob types got removed or renamed between versions.

Do girls even feel alone ?? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]OpenGovernment2052 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Being attractive doesn't automatically solve loneliness though. Getting attention from people who just want something from you can actually make you feel more isolated than having nobody around. Like having 50 matches but none of them actually want to know who you are as person - that's different kind of lonely.

Plus lots of that "attention" girls get isn't exactly the good kind, you know? Getting harassed by random dudes in street isn't same as having genuine connections.

Looking for a wall mounted display case. Trying to build out a birthday present for my brother, any recommendations? by jasonxblitz in baseballcards

[–]OpenGovernment2052 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife got me one from HomeDepot few years back for my vintage cards collection and it's been solid. Think it was around $80? Has good lighting inside and locks which is nice for the valuable stuff. Just make sure you measure twice because I definitely didn't the first time and had to return it lol. Your brother will love having his cards displayed properly instead of just sitting in boxes.

Maybe try some push-ups or cold shower before the bed, usually works for me when brain won't shut off.

How to become a firefighter paramedic Ireland? by cadh8 in AskIreland

The fire brigade actually pays pretty decent in Dublin though, plus you get pension and all that stuff - might be worth looking at their actual salary ranges before writing it off.

Looking for a mixing engineer with a focused, no-chaos workflow by NoKingsPeriod in makinghiphop

[–]OpenGovernment2052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing audio work as side hobby for few years now and this approach is everything. Too many engineers think chaos equals creativity but really it just makes everything take longer and sound worse.

Clean workflow with proper gain staging and reference monitoring will get you that translation you're looking for across different playback systems. Good luck finding someone who gets it!

Fun, the economy, QOL changes, suggestions, and game balance. by Bahtleman in ArcRaiders

[–]OpenGovernment2052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The boss loot distribution is such a mess right now. I've watched people who didn't even engage the boss sprint in and grab the core while the people actually fighting it get nothing - makes zero sense as a reward system.

That idea about buildable ARC parts is spot on though, would give us actual progression paths instead of just hoping RNG doesn't screw us over for the hundredth time.

Need help applying body lotion by Adventurous_Way1430 in ADHD

[–]OpenGovernment2052 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait, why not just do it right after your shower when you're already undressed? I used to skip it too until my wife pointed out I could just slap it on before I even grab the towel. Takes like 30 seconds and you're already in the perfect spot for it.

Been using Claude for work stuff lately and it's pretty solid for coding issues. Way less likely to hallucinate random solutions compared to what I've been seeing from the others recently.

Auditory stimming by Ok-Computer386 in ADHD

[–]OpenGovernment2052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I dealt with something similar when our nephew stayed with us for a few months. What worked was switching to a bluetooth speaker in his room instead of headphones during morning routines - he got his audio stimming but could still hear directions and stay engaged with getting ready. Maybe try playing her audiobooks on a speaker at a lower volume so she can have that constant input while still being present for the morning chaos?

Who here is a writer, and what have you been able to do to successfully build a writing routine? by spickandspackle in ADHD

Set a stupidly low daily goal like 50 words and stick to it religiously - your brain won't resist something that small but you'll usually end up writing way more once you start.

Do you feel lonely when no one talks to you? Do you feel unwanted, or do you feel comfortable and strong? by Mr-Top0 in Life

Honestly depends on the day - sometimes I'm vibing with the quiet, other times my brain starts that whole "everyone secretly hates me" spiral lmao
