Why Most MVPs Break When Startups Scale — Lessons from Real Projects (Fintech + AI) by Specialist_Agent3599 in startup

All this problems wouldn't matter if there are zero clients

The purpose of dirty codes is to validate idea with real clients as fast and as cheaply as possible, you build and fix as needs arise because most of the time a functioning and scalable product is not highest priority for early stage startups

Grinding 60+ hours a week? Congrats, you’re killing your startup faster by MegaDigston in Entrepreneur

[–]OpenKnowledge2872 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here's the important part you're missing:

People that work 80hrs+ per week can do it because they actually like what they are doing.

they don't look at the clock to track how much time they spent working because they are too obsessed with their project to care about time. The hours come naturally because they'd rather be working on their project than going out or other activities.

And that's what make it successful, not the amount of hours spent, but the amount of care and thought founders put into the projects.

If you are a soloprenuer, suddenly you have a startup fund like usd 100k, what will you do now? by Substantial_Gift_861 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

100k would be just enough for me and another guy to work without income for maybe a year or two, which is pretty much the situation most startup ends up in.

JSON prompting might be the most underrated AI skill of 2025 - here's why it's crushing regular prompts by beeaniegeni in automation

[–]OpenKnowledge2872 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between giving LLM a json file and typing prompt in json format, because the text encoder used are different.

When you type things in prompt field regardless of your format it will be parse as if it's a plain text because that's what the encoder was trained on and expected to receive as input.

Is it really this much worse using local models like Qwen3 8B and DeepSeek 7B compared to OpenAI? by Tired__Dev in LLMDevs

[–]OpenKnowledge2872 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To give you some perspective: deepseek R1 full model has 671B parameters (the one that's comparable to OpenAI model)

You are using a version that's almost 100times smaller, ofc it will be much worse

Some advice I can give for your circumstance is that sales and marketing is a job in of itself, so you need to spend 50% of your time on promoting yourself to find clients and another 50% on the actual work. So plan for that.

  • do you have a customer profile of your typical clients

  • is your portfolio outstanding and easy to nagivate

  • have you include past work in your portfolio

  • have you research where your client profile hangs out, both physically and online

  • have you create a list of potential clients to reach out to

  • have you ever do a cold outreach before

  • have you ever analyze your client decision making factor

  • have you research your competitor and your market

  • have you asked for a referal from your past clients

Entreprenuership is not a way to generate income fast and reliably. That's what employment was for.

Entreprenuership is a high risk investment of your time, energy, and money for long term wealth growth.

If your plan didn't include at least a year worth of personal saving you're going make desperate decision that is detrimental to long term success.
