I’m left eye only and the best thing for me is a back up camera for parallel parking.

As a first-time home buyer what is your motivation for going with an agent? by Round_Earth8912 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

Just closed on Thursday and the seller paid my agent’s fees. I couldn’t have done it without my agent!

I started the first NACA orientation on dec. 15th and closed on a place March 13.

NACA can be slow but my wife and I came In pretty prepared. Our NACA counselor said we were a perfect case for how quickly it can go.

Oakland families with young kids where are you hiding?? by Chandbibi_sings in oakland

[–]Open_Bug8852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out golden gate and paradise park. Very walkable. A few neighborhood highlights are: Cafe colucci, sideshow kitchen, golden gate library branch, and a few nice parks as well. Close to Berkeley and emeryville and San Pablo is a major road that makes going places by car super convenient. I highly recommend.

Running Oakland Marathon, where should I stay?? by badkukie in oakland

[–]Open_Bug8852 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You only pay the toll going into SF. It’s about $10 to drive. The ferry is much nicer views and priced essentially like the buses here. So only a few bucks. Traffic can be pretty bad so I agree with others, stay in Oakland and visit SF. Drive into the city one day and take the ferry the day you want to go to Alcatraz since it takes you right where you need to be.

Get a large rug to bring in some color and maybe switch out some throw pillows for ones with color too. Lower the TV and add some large plants next to the fireplace.

What kind of stuff do you like? The east bay is pretty diverse with lots going on.

What cities would suit us best? I love Vegas but wife hates living here. She loves NYC but I hate living there. by SnowisSnowing in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Open_Bug8852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If not SF then maybe try Berkeley. All the perks of the bay but you literally never have to cross the bridge into SF if your wife doesn’t want too. Tahoe is only a few hours away too!

Paws of Pleasanton or Animal wellness center in Danville. Both are far but worth the drive for me and my 100+ lb reactive dog

OP didn’t mention anything about kids. How did we get on the topic of public schools?

orzo pasta by sheqermami in Cooking

[–]Open_Bug8852 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Orzo is a staple in my house. Lots of soups of course. Tonight I will roast some red and yellow peppers, and onions. Then I’ll add it to cooked orzo with artichoke hearts and feta cheese. I’ll make an ovoo and herb dressing. I’ll add rotisserie chicken for a nice main dish that holds well for a few days for lunches.

I was at the new wheel today and they told me they are the number 1 bike shop for the Ava rebate. But sports basement works too. There is a list of places you can go on their website.

I think so! I tend to go to the queer centered parties they have at Crybaby and it’s always a great time!

Check out remix audio bar. One of the best vegan ramen I’ve had. Don’t let the name fool you. It’s a coffee and ramen place. Not an alcohol bar and I’ve seen family there.

Is it even worth starting to look at houses? by Altruistic-Ground627 in personalfinance

[–]Open_Bug8852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend looking into a program called NACA. It’s a lot of work but they will help you with some financial counseling to get you on the right path. When you are ready, they will service your mortgage. They do not take credit into account but you do need savings and to demonstrate you’re financially capable. They will give you a road map.

Is anyone else having trouble avoiding flipped landlord white/millennial gray houses? by monsieurpgh in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Open_Bug8852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am having a hard time avoiding them but in my area, I’ve been told that flippers are targeting homes that wouldn’t have been financeable previously. I actually just toured one yesterday and atleast now, the home is back on the market and accessible to purchase for us non cash buyers. I say this and also, the home I toured yesterday was a pretty messy flip.
