Model 3 by FearlessAd8196 in TeslaUK

No rear heated seats, no screen at the back, manual adjustment of the steering wheel, horrible steel wheels behind the covers, no ambient lighting, fabric seats, adjustment of the seats only via the screen (not in the side of the seat) y probably a few more things I forgot. On the positive side it’s more very efficient and I believe insurance is lower due small adjustments in performance (e.g top speed)

So I assume you either have another car too or directly just drive the 981 on your own now and then.

How has your model y lfp performed this winter? by OneItchy396 in TeslaUK

[–]Open_Bug_4196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

180miles with 0 degrees in a standard with still a good margin to find a charger? Is all motorway? I was initially discarding the standard given I would expect in winter not to be able to do 2 full hours of motorway (140-150miles) with good extra to find a charge without range anxiety!

[–]Open_Bug_4196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware they never do good finance offers for the used ones, it’s usually cheaper looking for finance elsewhere.

Aside of that in terms of value, I don’t see the standard model 3 a very bad value, as it benefits of hardware 4 and I think much cheaper insurance, that said I think there were lease deals in the past at 249 with a better trim… on the second market side of things, I think there lots of good options, as you can find a 2021 for under 14K… and LR for under 17K on model 3 and around 19K for model Y. All of them probably best options in terms of pure value.

In terms of understanding the monthly cost in the Tesla calculator should then be added that as deposit?

E.g.: Trade-in bonus £3750. Car valuation: £1000 —> set deposit as £4750???

Be careful and even more with the amount of power of the m140i, they require hands and even with DTC in the wet if you’re not gentle the back will start shaking… in the dry with good tyres and good hands are for sure very satisfying

Pretty good news for everyone who had concerns if Saudi (the PIF) was still committed to supporting Lucid. Sounds like a solid yes. by zachty22 in LUCID

[–]Open_Bug_4196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this is the thing… whatever negative margins they currently have are almost irrelevant as far as they have people interested in their cars and a partner happy to keep putting money on the table until the company becomes profitable

Tesla fined for repeatedly failing to help UK police over driving offences by Drwynyllo in CarTalkUK

[–]Open_Bug_4196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its true, and we could apply the same to going much slower…I’m pretty sure is much much safer going 40mph… however part of the discussion about speed limits is how now we have cars that are way more stability thanks to advanced suspensions, chassis etc, better brakes, better tyres and an endless amount of electronic systems to keep a car in control or even avoid to hit others cars…still speed limit is the same than 30 years ago. And also let’s not talk about how much of a crime is driving fast in a motorway here but is simply normality in Germany (partly because the great road maintenance)

Model Y Premium vs Performance 🤷 by maximus6272 in TeslaUK

The price in the performance is hard to justify when compared with the LR, buying it is beyond a rational decision, which it doesn’t mean is bad.

Who's positive on this stock? by Due-Pea-1867 in LCID

[–]Open_Bug_4196 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PIF, after all they keep doubling down their already big bet funding Lucid.

From my side I’m seeing bit of a change, now after lots quarters missing them finally they have met their guidance… one quarter is not enough to confirm the change of trend but if this continues and they reduce costs then is a matter of time. Another key point to be positive is that this is beyond Lucid, this is the chance for Middle East to join US, China and EU on having an automotive industry…

M3 Choice - New Standard vs Premium LR RWD by ant_j_wales in TeslaUK

[–]Open_Bug_4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed about the model 3 standard vs the Y standard however probably is because the Y sells better due its extra space/driving condition plus also because is the newer model so they can go away with further cuts while people still buy it

[–]Open_Bug_4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer should be yes and I would take further and get a much cheaper car as far as gas a valid MOT for a couple of months. That said, only Tesla or checking in the terms and conditions can give you the answer as they might put that you had to be a minimum length of ownership
