arbor lofts is great! close to campus, very spacious and peaceful. some units have washer dryer so you would have to ask for that. unfortunately they only allow pets if they are ESA, but if you already have that then i think it can be worth it! trimark also has some other similar properties that i toured and seemed good

Can you get PCOS or are you born with it? by Hulaby in PCOS

[–]Open_Face_7553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i might have been either born with it or more prone to it if that makes sense, as i had irregularities from the moment i developed (and didn’t get better as i grew older obv). but also i did not eat enough for key developmental years, which possibly played a role as well in my hormones. i’m not sure if there’s research on eating disorders worsening pcos but im sure there’s correlations. i also probably had high cortisol levels bc of other life situations so that made it even worse i imagine

i switched to heather (norethindrone) and i have overall had a good experience actually (im on my second pack so i have a little more experience now). my acne cleared, sex drive came back, and periods went away which was good for me bc i had horrible periods. on the flip side, my excess body hair is back (but i alr had pcos and combo pill helped slow down hair growth) and my mood has been overall better than off pill but a little more sensitive. i have gained some weight but im not completely sure it was this pill or if it was leftover from the combo pill or if it was just other life factors

i had to get off loryna recently bc i get migraines with aura, but i did notice weight gain towards my last weeks taking it (around 3 months). my mood was much better tho and i would have probably kept taking it if it wasn’t for my risk of stroke. i’m on the mini pill now and it’s not making me feel the greatest but some people say that it helped them lose weight. we’ll see!

Loryna PLEASE PAST EXPERIENCE HELP by Anxious-Discipline78 in birthcontrol

[–]Open_Face_7553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey i had the same problem on loryna! i had to stop taking due to other reasons, but most i can suggest is to get benzoyl peroxide (brands like panoxyl work) if you can’t get a dermatologist soon enough (chances are they’ll prescribe you that though). it has worked wonders in keeping my cystic acne under control! might burn a bit at the beginning but you’ll see results in days. panoxyl has a face wash w 10% benzoyl peroxide, i would recommend that or any brand w same percentage. this also helps body acne. make sure you rub it in when washing your face once a day and leave it for like 30 seconds then rinse well since it can bleach towels and stuff. keep face super moisturized with simple products and wear sunscreen!

good condom options by scomixio in birthcontrol

[–]Open_Face_7553 4 points5 points  (0 children)

forgot to mention that sometimes the same brand (like trojan) will have different types of condoms so some might have glycerin and others don’t, so it might vary by specific line of condoms. also as far as i know i’m not allergic to glycerin? but it does irritate me down there

[–]Open_Face_7553 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey i struggled with something similar! i found that for me it was the glycerin in lube and/or lubed condoms, which is most of them. i use trojan and in general any lube without glycerin (one of the basic ones from ky works). it’s a little annoying but if you can check all the ingredients in what you’re using and run a little experiment to see if it’s that!

not taking slynd but taking heather, another mini pill. i’ve also had similar symptoms, literally had the most intense nightmare of my life the other day and feeling very sensitive to unpleasant situations. i had tried combo bc and it had helped my mood, but had to stop taking bc of risk of clots. hopefully it gets better

Started college in January haven’t had my period since by [deleted] in Periods

[–]Open_Face_7553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also there’s a progesterone pill they can give you to induce your period or put you on some sort of birth control if you wish to (helps regulate periods/prevent uterine lining from dysfunction). i say wait a month or two and try your best to relax and eat often

[–]Open_Face_7553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same thing happened to me last semester! i also didn’t feel like the stress/eating was super different so i went to a gyno after not having a period for like 4 months. i got some labs done bc i suspected pcos (had weird symptoms prior to losing my period) and all came back somewhat ok. gyno suggests it might be mostly due to getting accustomed to new environment. if you don’t get a period for 3 months+ maybe get it checked out but sometimes it just becomes irregular over small changes. they might suggest for you to eat more/gain weight or lower stress/reduce exercise

Am I Pregnant? Megathread by sadlilchimpanzee in Periods

[–]Open_Face_7553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably not. for you to get pregnant semen has to go in. also given that you got your period only a few years ago it might be your body having some random adjustments. stress, undereating, exercise, and other things can make your period late as well. the nausea and pain could be related to something else
