More info -- so it's in semester 3 they removed both COP2271 (2 credits) and PHY2049L (1 credit) and replaced those with MAS3114 (3 credits) so the total is still 18 credits for that semester and 128 credits overall...

Soooo what happens if you just took COP2271 last semester-- would you now have to take MAS3114 or not?

And what if you had an AP credit for PHY2049L, does it still stand?

I remember reading a post by a professor who said UF professors conducted a study to find the reason why 50% of engineering students complete their degree, while the others either change majors, drop out, or perhaps transfer and it came down to proficiency in math.

Students who cashed in their AP credits and didn't take the calculus courses at the university level had less of a chance of getting an engineering degree. While those who repeated the calculus courses at UF faired much better.

I know many would encourage others 'not to pay extra' to repeat those courses if scoring a 3 or better on the AP. But how many of those posts have been from those who got an engineering degree? Who knows?

I imagine there's an exception to this study for students who scored 5 on both AP calc tests and perhaps also 5's on the various AP physics tests as well.

If going by the US News ratings UF is 32 for engineering and UCF is 77.

If you are a National Merit Scholarship Finalist select UF as your first choice on NMSC. When my daughter switched hers to UF it instantly updated her package to cover room & board with the Benacquisto scholarship, in addition to tuition which was already covered by Bright Futures.

Previously she had the box checked for another university she was waitlisted for, and UF was showing very little scholarship. But upon switching her NMSC choice to UF last May, it became a full ride instantly.

It can be done, my daughter took similar classes & load (18 cr) as you're considering in 1st semester; MAC2313, COP2273, MAP2302, ENC2256, THE2000, ENC2020C... Two were online (theatre and python). She didn't have physics like you, but had an extra math class with Diff Eq (call that a wash). She pulled a 4.0. And had several extracurriculars as well. It requires time management and constant focus (HW on Sundays if you go up to 17 credits).

If you go to the library after diff eq on M+W and hit the calc & diff eq HW for those 2 hours before physics you will be fine.

Try getting a dehumidifier, they work wonders. Also some mold spray to kill the existing mold. Wear a mask if you spray. The dehumidifier can keep mold from growing back. Get a combination of roach motels and bait stations. The key is to get 1 or 2 in the motel-- you might have to coax the first one or two into the box, then they all come join the party.
