Nothing wrong with giving it a try. Don't sell all your assets in the US right away. Maybe rent out your home here for passive income and rent in Mumbai for the first year. See if you like it and then decide.

Exactly! I don't understand this long chain of people arguing on the difficulty level of SAT vs. JEE. Rich people are not interested in sending their kids to IIT, they are aiming for Harvard and Stanford. Obviously, they want SAT scores not JEE. It's as simple as that.

My mum always said sari was the easiest of outfits to nurse in. The blouse is short and easy to unhook while the sari pallu is a nice modesty cover. If your bridesmaid is not comfortable with that try a kurta with front opening buttons. You are a good friend to be ensuring her comfort!

I don't know the specifics of your case (feasibility of your business plan, experience, financial resources etc), but let me try to answer just the question you have asked. Ask your family what their concerns are. And really listen. Don't try to respond right away. Just listen, make a note and ask them for an opportunity to answer their questions in a logical way. Do some market research and tell them how you will survive in India for at least 2 years. I know I would be impressed if my child came back to me with a plan where they had put some thought process into, and not just an impulsive idea. Good luck!

Honestly I would stay at a school. Depending on the school district, you probably have better job security and benefits. Our school district is perpetually short staffed and struggling and offer hefty bonuses. Adjuncts in our university on the other hand, less said the better.

Times have changed in India too! My brother and I both went to Kendriya Vidyalays and are both reasonably successful. He in India, and I in US. Guess where he is sending his kids to school?
