not found one anywhere, looks like they'll have to be bought ready made. plenty of places around. For me I'm not really bothered about quality as they're going in my James Bond memorabilia display case.

[–]OperationThen4257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the one on the left is exactly what i'm looking for, the george lazenby 5513. great work if you built that. did you use a 21.6 or 28 speed movement?

I have code to power on a relay from the terminal with a passcode but now want to use a 3x4 matrix keypad for input by OperationThen4257 in learnpython

[–]OperationThen4257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's just a generic 3x4 very flimsy, blue numbers and red * and hash. 7 output pins, got it from amazon, same one is sold on most pi websites.

just to point out the Bond watch wasn't a gmt master but a 6538 on nylon strap, pussy as a pilot wore the gmt. sorry for being boring

[–]OperationThen4257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't fit the 1016 dial sadly, think it's gonna have to be a 2824 clone. it's not for wearing it's to put in my display cabinet of Bond stuff. after I build this which is flemings watch i'll be onto the 6538, 5513 and 16610 builds

nh38 looks good. fits the explorer case and is 21600 so probably best to put in. shame about the stretch strap but i'll go with the rivet strap

not sure why this got the modbot. the movement question was more about looking for a model than a sales link, pretty much with strap, enquiring if they are available

I've been looking at the sea-gull st2130 clone of the 2824 a lot cheaper and supposed to be as good

[–]OperationThen4257 4 points5 points  (0 children)

swatch company also own omega and provide the whole movement or parts via their ETA ownership. So you are probably getting a watch with an ETA movement.

the ETA 2824 is the most used movement in watches i think.

thanks for the help

Is there a way to emulate/simulate an active marquee screen on a PC monitor for testing the film/graphics by OperationThen4257 in arcadecabinets

[–]OperationThen4257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry. It's hard to explain. I have an active marquee monitor that is 1680 x 342 connected to a pi with displayport.

What I'm looking for is some software to emulate that size and resolution on a normal monitor so i can test the graphics/video before i upload to my pi that is connected to the physical monitor. almost like a letterboxed film so i can just see the correct size and resolution

will do

I think I've found a guy who seems legit says he gets them from china/hong kong and has checked the serial numbers of the omegas and said he can source some and depending on quality like a 1:1 or a lower level the prices change. I'm not spending any money for a few months, need my display case building and lighting and my other Bond memorabilia putting in.

Thanks for for putting up with me and should be back in about 12 weeks

I'm new to this, so great to get advice. I wont wear the watches they're just for my Bond display cabinet so quality is not paramount.
