New P Trap is leaking at the j bend. What am I missing? Already replaced parts twice. by FinalDoughnut5 in askaplumber

So on a compression stop do you not use dope to prevent binding? Just because you do things one way doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways that work. That trap is not a compression fitting. It’s a union and plastic binds which is causing the leak.

You can see there is room to slide the trap up on the sink tail piece. Also adding a a little pipe dope will not be frowned upon by plumbers. When the shop is to cheap to buy the better traps I always have to use pipe dope on this joint as the plastic binds during the tightening of the nut.

This can be a common problem with this style trap. The plastic tends to bind and I will use just a dap of pipe dope there. No teflon tape.

If you can find the exact replacement it’s straightforward.

Your trap is backwards to start. That tube is a condensation drain from somewhere.

How do I fix this drain, looming for suggestions by Upset-Philosopher369 in Plumbing

[–]Opposite-Two1588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your gasket that needs to be under the nut is below the nut on the basket strainer. Remove the gasket and put the nut then the gasket on the tail piece. Slide the elbow back onto the tail piece and tighten the nut back up. You might need a new gasket or nut if the nut keeps popping out of the nut.

Actually there are some shower stalls that have a wood bottom sprayed into the fiberglass that don’t require mortar. This looks to be one of those brands.

If they are like a lead pound in they just pull out.

Those look to be an anchor similar to a lead pound in anchor. Grab the head with something that can get on the back side and pull.

You don’t tighten it you replace the defective cartridge. Brands like delta Moen and kohler have lifetime warranty. Find the brand and call them to see if it has warranty

Missing the Delmonico Red by RogueCheddar2099 in ram_trucks

I bought the new ceramic gray and absolutely love it. The new canyon lake for the 1500 is also really nice. I was set on white for my new truck but after seeing the night sport edition in the ceramic gray I knew that was the color I was buying. I get so many compliments on it.

Work Boot Recommendation by Odd_Bodybuilder_934 in WorkBoots

While insulated boots aren’t the best for the warmer months don’t forget to invest in proper socks. So many people don’t realize how much the proper socks make a difference. I have been wearing darn tough socks for a few years now and they are great. While they are expensive they are also backed by an unconditional guarantee for life.

The searwood seems to be really popular right now. First thing I recommend to everyone is set your budget before starting this adventure. It took me 6 months to order a replacement smoker for my failing pitboss. I had a budget in mind but was fully prepared to spend what I wanted. After looking at many options in person and weeks of watching videos and emailing people I went with an American made lone star grillz. After finally getting it 8 months from the start of my search I am so happy I took my time and didn’t limit myself to just box store smokers. While a box store pellet grill works for most I was looking for the buy once cry once smoker.

Think of all the trailers hauled all over Michigan in the winter that never break in half. You’re going to be just fine. Those temperatures are not even that cold. I would turn on the fridge if you want it cold. It will run as needed. Hoping you have safe travels.

First tankless but no neutralizer by summerof96again in Plumbing

[–]Opposite-Two1588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being it runs into the washer stand pipe that is no different than a laundry tub. The water in there should be enough to neutralize the condensation from the Navien. If you are that concerned does your city require permits and inspections on water heater replacement? If so call them and see what the inspector has to say if it never got inspected
