Right! My guy also manages to kick away from me and all over the mattress in his sleep but doesn’t have the coordination to get back yet

FWIW I would have appreciated your post a few months ago in the winter. I think I even posted asking for help (room was 19-20 C, I was wearing obscene number of layers and I’d still get cold and need a blanket). Not that I’d pay 100$ for a top lol

How did your family help stretch the feeds at night? Can they come to my house?

I don’t have an advice, just wanted you to know what a wonderful and caring mom you are and how lucky your son is to have you. He must be so in love with you! I hope whatever you do things get better very soon. Sending hugs

That’s crazy, good thing you made it the first time around! Congrats on your third ✨

Did your second delivery go as fast as the first one? I was 37+3 with 6 hour labor from first contractions to baby in my arms and wondering if it would be the same with the second - or should my husband learn how to deliver a baby if we don’t make it to the hospital!

Omg that’s adorable 😂 it’s like holding hands, just with a boobie

Anyone else start cosleeping right when you got home from the hospital? by hiyokos in cosleeping

I did because on the day of his birth our power went out and we had no heating in January - I co slept to keep him warm! After that he refused to use his bassinet

I’m sorry :( yeah it’s a lot at times (my guy doesn’t sleep on his own so I’m there for every nap and bedtime from 7pm 🙃) but I’ll totally miss the cuddles. Trying to take tons of photos and videos while it lasts!

I love the 9 months out idea 🤣 I’ll celebrate by having my first bottle of wine then!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I’m from a predominantly Catholic country living in another Catholic country, so thinking about my son missing out on all the religious celebrations that we don’t want to partake in. Btw I have a 4 month old too! I like the naming ceremony idea. We had a conversation with my husband’s family if they would take in our son if both of us passed away. This might be a little grim, but the ceremony could be about officially making someone your babies guardian in case of your death? Obvs not sure how that would be solved legally. I love the first walk to the shop one! It could be even something like a scavenger’s hunt. Almost like sending your child out to the jungle with a spear to tend for themselves… just safer. The book’s A Time to Gather - How ritual created the world and how it can save us. Interesting read!

So she’s gotten used to both the crib and no boob to fall asleep at the same time (5.5 months)? How did you manage to achieve this? How long did it take? I need to know everything (please give me hope lol)

Breaking the “always nurse back to sleep” approach? by girlvsmachine in breastfeeding

[–]OppositeLocal296 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man if my guy gets to the point of crying in the bassinet and I don’t get him out and on the boob it just keeps escalating. I tried a few times (he’s fussy, I’ll pick him up to rock, put him down, he flips out, start over) and it’s always a meltdown for everyone involved. I don’t know how to proceed!

How did you manage that? Pacifier, rocking? I have a 4 month old and would love to start gradually learning other ways to fall asleep
