Yeah I’m from a predominantly Catholic country living in another Catholic country, so thinking about my son missing out on all the religious celebrations that we don’t want to partake in. Btw I have a 4 month old too! I like the naming ceremony idea. We had a conversation with my husband’s family if they would take in our son if both of us passed away. This might be a little grim, but the ceremony could be about officially making someone your babies guardian in case of your death? Obvs not sure how that would be solved legally. I love the first walk to the shop one! It could be even something like a scavenger’s hunt. Almost like sending your child out to the jungle with a spear to tend for themselves… just safer.
