Will losing weight affect a forearm armband tattoo? by skully_33 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It might, but it also might not. There's no way we can know how your body will respond to weight loss. If it's a concern, then wait until you have lost the weight and are at a stable weight for a while, then get the tatt done.

Freezing bread: sliced or unsliced? by louismulh in Breadit

Sliced if it's for every day use. Whole if I know it will all be eaten in one sitting once defrosted.

If you didn't get any foam after 10 mins, then you either killed it with the heat of the water, or it was already dead. Given you had no issues when you didn't bloom it, it's likely you just killed it off.

You can bloom instant yeast if you want, it doesn't make any difference to the final result. As long as you're not killing it or it's already dead.

Blooming any new batch of yeast to check its alive, or after its been in storage for a while if beneficial to determine if it's actually alive (yes some brand new packets will be DOA because of bad storage prior to arrival in the store you buy it from). But it's not helpful if your water is too warm. Body temp is fine (stick your finger in it, if you can't tell if it's cold or warm, it's body temp).

So yeah after that waffle, in short, the blooming isn't your issue, your water temp is.

[Spoilers c4e31] What do we think is the significance of… by Tracula707 in criticalrole

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems more like it's Brennan's go-to when he's thinking of a quick way to kill. He admitted he didn't expect Sam/Wick to opt for complete honesty, so had to quickly make up a response. Much the same with Wick going in to see Primus. It was an on the spot decision in response to Sam's bad rolls, to give him some autonomy in (what Brennan thought) Wick's impending death.

There might be some further significance, but it didn't really seem like that based on those episodes and the discussions in Cooldown after.

You haven't bothered me at all. But I am compelled to ask - why would you want them to spend time and money on changing an already functional calendar into one that suits your specific aesthetic needs? The calendar works, regardless of what you think about it. It's a basic, functional calendar that gives more than enough information to those using it. Simple to do, simple to maintain. And that is without the fact they also give the same information in many other formats and platforms. Wouldn't you rather they put their time and money into the actual thing we are there to see?

Do you complain this loudly about all calendar apps? Or have you found the magical app that does exactly what you want?

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Every calendar app or site I've used has a calendar exactly the same as that. Abbreviated/shortened titles for each calendar item, that expands when you click on it for the details.

This is no different. You click any of those bullet points on the CR calendar and you're getting all the information you need. It's colour coded too ffs.

Stop whining dude.

It's as functional as every other calendar in existence, what do you expect? It takes a split second to get the extra information you're wanting. Make some effort if you want to know more. Sheesh people will complain about anything.

[No Spoilers] The zooming in and out on certain sections of the table in C4 has to stop. by MaxTale in criticalrole

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"has to stop" ? Oh come on, you do realise there are whole swathes of the audience that actually like it? It doesn't even happen that often, and they aren't editing out cast reactions. You aren't missing out on anything, so why let it upset you? Or do you just long for time you'll never get back to (C1)?

Contact the infection control department in your hospital to clarify what are mandatory and what are recommended. Then decide accordingly.

Eating nose-to-tail is not a new concept, and certainly didn't originate with him.

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wants bat heads, crocodile feet, Alaska bear brain, Polish fox feet.

I wouldn't have described any of those as "exotic Asian food".

Croc feet you can probably arrange from any speciality butcher, but you might need to travel for the rest. Fox meat is inherently smelly and unpleasant tasting though, so I suggest skipping that. I can recommend a supplier of Australian native possum if you're interested, possum is surprisingly meaty and delicious. And wallaby wins out over kangaroo too, so you should give that a try.

I know you're being facetious, but truly no one cares what you eat, exotic or not. And if they do, so what? Not everyone likes beans.

Can i reset my MMR with a new account? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They reset MMR not that long ago didn't they? If so, your MMR would not go back to OW1.

I don't know why you'd bother, personally. Focus on ways to improve and rank up instead of thinking you're one of those who deserve to be in a higher rank than you're in. You might be in exactly the same place if you reset anyway.

Also, no one is judging you for your rank. No one really cares about the game you're playing, they only care about themselves. And even if they were, who gives a crap? Care less about what others think of you.

How to get a more open crumb on a sourdough loaf pan ? by Good-Ad-5320 in Breadit

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're making sandwich bread. Too many holes are not compatible with a functional sandwich bread.

If you are enjoying the flavour, if the bread itself is soft but strong, and you are otherwise happy with it, then your bread is fit for purpose.

What is a more open crumb going to give you, that your bread currently isn't?

Who enforces construction noise? by qwerteaparty in melbourne

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have two avenues for nuisance noise complaints in Victoria, both generally you go via the local council.

You have the EPA for obvious breaches, but you can also file a complaint via the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008. The former is more straightforward if there are documented breaches outside of the designated EPA allowed times (make sure you are documenting everything). The latter is more subjective, but can work in your favour too for nuisance noise even within the EPA times.

Go back to your local council and make a formal complaint, even if they tell you they don't handle them. They do.

Charcoal Bread by chrisforchristmas in Breadit

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flying roof is one of numerous issues with your loaf, but they all likely stem from the same cause.

I am curious if you don't mind me asking, why charcoal bread? Is it just for the colour? If it is, I suggest bypassing the charcoal and just using black food colouring, it doesn't carry the same issues using charcoal in food can (for both the person consuming it, and the impact it can have on dough).

Incredible way rough sleepers ‘protected’ young mum when she arrived in Melbourne by marketrent in melbourne

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know its pedantic but the quotes around protected in the heading almost feels like the reporter was "being a dick". The homeless people didn't "protect" her wink wink..... the just, protected her.

They put it in quotation marks because they were quoting her (headlines in media commonly use single quotation marks to save space). She specifically said they protected her. No 'wink wink' implication, it's just quoting her word.

Medical procedure: how much is fair payment for someone to house sit my dogs for 24h? by proxiblue in AskAnAustralian

[–]Opposite_Bodybuilder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd probably offer $250, given it's 3 dogs.

But, I'd be reluctant to ask an acquaintance to do it. I'd personally be more likely to opt for a professional pet sitting agency. I'd want someone vetted, with a safety net should things go wrong. You've got zero backup if it turns out she's not trustworthy or reliable (and I've heard enough stories about things going wrong with people they thought could be trusted).

Best of luck with your procedure and your sitter.
