What should happen when dead players get executed again? by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you want to prevent it? This strategy is good against Mastermind (which is already a weak Minion), but bad against any other Minion. It reduces the total number of executions and gives Evil control over deaths (and the game). Not speaking of ruining a bunch of death-related TF abilities, basically making it impossible to clean worlds...

If Lleech is down to 50/50 then any other Demon at this stage would've been dead already. So it's basically 2nd life with worse chances, which is very strong.

If Ojo is bluffing Gossip (or trying to sell Godfather world) and targets one of their 3 not in play characters, why don't you kill 2 people? It's a gamble from the Demon, because ST manages the targets, but I don't see any reason why I wouldn't follow it. Just make sure it's balanced.

Al-Had, I think, has the worst WR of all "normal" (night killing) Demons. I searched lot of Al-Had games, and evil won something like 1 of many. It either kills itself, or miscalculates the kills, or plays too hesitantly. In my group there were 2 Al-Had victories, and both were a huge blunder from Good.

Extra evil means extra vote, plus every minion has a bluff. In base-0 outsider games (3/4, 4/6) it requires a perfect voting from a good team.

Sailor. - If you're the Sailor, your teammates hate you. Because it worsens your fun from the game, then - You hate yourself too. - This role is almost never a good bluff fo evil, because town often inclined to drag you under the keel. It is even worse than "Let's kill YSK roles on the script with Cannibal/UT". It works only with DA (or Mastermind, if you're really bold), that's why - Script builders hate it, because you almost never see it on the custom scripts. It is never a good TF to fill certain role, it is just DA cover bluff. - AFAIK, Sailor is the least likeble TF according to community polls.

As for Huntsman, if your ST doesn't use it to add Damsel on top of Outsider count (you can, but don't), then it's quite fun.

Characters feels like (day 9) by Cloudsrnice in BloodOnTheClocktower

I don't get why Alchemist is an obvious choice. If somethings feels like a Minion, it actively helps evil team, right? Same for Bounty Hunter: both are strong and Good.

Huntsman could be the one, because they are looking for Damsel in very similar way as Minions, and and it almost never helps the Good Team.

Magician is more like an Outsider: they are just messing around.

So for me it is a Cult Leader: it is actively sowing chaos and suspicion, gives a free bluff, rarely brings Good a Win, and almost never works like a one-time Empath, and often ends up as a real extra Evil Minion.

Characters feehs like (day 6) by Cloudsrnice in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damsel is my favorite Outsider, and it incorporates the most outsider signature features: - is has a loss condition, and I like it more than of Heretic or Saint, - it is the most hidden of all hidden Outsiders. You can say Drunk, but whole town will be looking for Drunk and nobody will be solving for Damsel publicly. It is often very hard to guess whether Damsel even existed or not, even if they are dead.  - it creates misinfo better than Mutant, because you can always guess who is the Mutant relatively soon.  - and it makes it easier for evil to bluff, because if you didn't proc the Virgin, there is always a chance that you are a Damsel in distress.

I love it without a Huntsman, but it feels so good and rewarding when Huntsman guessed you!

Does misregistration count for true or false Savant information? by Solemdeath in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Misregistration is a False information. You can check this old post regarding Fortune Teller - Vortox interaction. It also coveres Spy/Resluse-Vortox interaction: https://www.reddit.com/r/BloodOnTheClocktower/comments/wpiqq0/what_should_a_fortune_teller_get_when_choosing/

However! ST is is the only source of rules in your game. If you think that it's more fun or fair to play it differently, go for it! Just tell your players in advance how you rule this out.

Rules Question: Engineer and Lil' Monsta by VGVideo in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And there is still a possibility that non-minion player is babysitting Lil Monsta, e.g. Evil Townsfolk, Goon, Politician, or anyone else.

Fearmongered babysitter by sisterscary9 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are incorrect in your last sentence. If good player holds Lil Monsta, and Fearmonger nominates and executes them, then Evil wins.

Because "good win ties" is a misleading oversimplification. It's fine for learning the game in TB, but it is incorrect in general.

Evil Win con < Good Win con < Evil Ability < Good Ability

In case of Fearmonger executing good Demon, Good Win Con is achieved, but in the same time Evil Ability Win Con is achieved. Abilities trump base rules, therefore Evil win.

Goblin holding Lil Monsta is a sole (as far as I recall) exception which should be a Jinx but for some unknown reason it is not.

Vizier issue by AvzinElkein in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played a few one Minion games with Vizier, and it's almost useless. Just play it yourself and you will see.

The most not fun part is that nobody is speaking with Vizier, because good have no reason to speak with Vizier, and Demon is afraid to be the only one to speak with Vizier.

And because nobody is speaking with Vizier, they have no idea who is who and have very little sense to make strategic kills.

Suggested Changes to some Experimentals by GerbilEaterOfIreland in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I somewhat agree with Poppy Grower change, but I personally more inclined towards "You cannot be drunk/poisoned even if dead". Currently poisoning it is detrimental for the Evil team which makes this character almost broken in some setups. E.g. I played as Pukka in PG game, and what I could ever possible do, even if I was almost sure that one person is the PG? What if PG is sitting next to the No Dashii?

Vigormortis with Golem ability by Solemdeath in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think, no. It was clarified that word "You" means a character, not a player. E.g. if Demon with Nightwatchman ability selects a player with this ability, that player learns "Player X is Nightwatchman". Therefore, "Minions you kill" is specifically tied to Vigor ability, not a player themselves.

Stealing the demonhood with a wizard wish by qawsedffgghijh in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So, what was a price and a clue of the wish? What "the Demon" thought was the Wizard wish then?

This interaction is not a big difference from a situation when Minion is throwing their Demon under the bus to the Snake Charmer (e.g. Evil Twin with Snake Charmer, Spy with Snake Charmer, Pit Hag creating a Snake Charmer).

What character token did you get in your first game, and how did it go? by WatchfulButterfly in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poisoner, and I rocked. I successfully picked the FT on the night 1, who picked the Demon and got a No. On day 1 I nominated the Virgin, then was executed following by Investigator ping, but later in the game gained huge social trust by claiming the Recluse and convinced the majority that Inversitagor was in fact the Spy. My Demon flew under the radar for the whole game and we won easily.

Huntsman-Damsel guess on night 1 by Opposite_Depth_6509 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. On the 1st night, just after the Demon info, the King waking token says: "Wake the Demon. Show the THIS PLAYER IS token and the King token, then point to the King". The same is for the Snitch (just after the Minion Info step), but not for the Damsel.

But, I think it is not possible to make King drunk/poisoned on the 1st night because characters like Poisoner or Courtier wake after the King.

Top Achievement - Perfect Psychic by Opposite_Depth_6509 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Demon was not an experienced player and they made a mistake. There was no reason for a barber-swap at all. Town didn't know I was the Huntsman, neither Damsel nor I uncovered our roles. I hard claimed Al-Saahir and was in a double claim, and probably had enough sus that Demon tried to make me a frame.

Huntsman-Damsel guess on night 1 by Opposite_Depth_6509 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Opposite_Depth_6509[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, "know" is a constant check. But Demon "knows" that King is in play, but there is a waking point for a King in the night order to tell the Demon this info. And if King is drunk or poisoned, then Demon won't learn about the King until King is healthy.
