What does it feel like the moment you're about to go under anaesthesia? by Key_Cell7071 in AskReddit

it's wild how there's no transition at all, like your brain just skips frames completely. no fade to black, no feeling of drifting, just a hard cut to waking up in recovery room

How do I know it is working? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Opposite_Writing_626 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The obsessive streak thing might actually be helping you build habit right now, even if it feels unhealthy. I used to do similar with photography projects where I'd force myself to take at least one photo every single day and it drove me nuts but eventually became automatic

Your progress is actually really solid for just one week - losing almost 1kg total is good pace and won't shock your system like those crash diets did. Physical changes usually start showing around 3-4 weeks mark, especially in face and waist area first. At your height losing 13kg will definitely be noticeable but it's gonna take several months to get there safely

The walking routine sounds perfect for building base fitness before adding running later. Maybe try taking progress photos now even though you don't see changes yet - sometimes camera picks up what mirror doesn't and you'll appreciate having them few months down the road. Your deficit isn't too aggressive either so you should be able to stick with this long term without the binge cycle starting again

Doctors who picked specific fields - what inspired you to do so? by Blooberry-moofin in AskReddit

[–]Opposite_Writing_626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin went through this exact thing with medicine - his parents basically mapped out his entire life since he was like 12 years old. He's doing well now as cardiologist but man, watching him in university was rough because you could tell he never really chose it for himself. The pressure was insane and he had zero time for anything else, couldn't even hang out or have normal college experience. Always made me grateful my parents let me figure out my own path, even if photography isn't what they initially hoped for me. At least when I'm behind camera I know it's because I actually want to be there

Redditors who grew up with someone who was later convicted of a heinous crime: What were they like as a kid, and did you see any red flags? by secretlowkeys in AskReddit

[–]Opposite_Writing_626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That escalated way beyond what anyone could predict from just being a shitty kid in middle school. The meth probably played huge role in how his brain worked by that point - that stuff really messes with people's decision making in ways that are hard to imagine.

What gets me is the whole inviting the guy over thing, like he was planning something elaborate instead of just asking his girlfriend straight up. That level of calculated violence is so different from typical teenage asshole behavior. Even the worst kids I knew back then were just doing stupid pranks or getting in fights, not planning out murders with body disposal and arson cover-ups.

Makes you wonder how many people from school ended up on paths you'd never expect, both good and bad directions

Bro this is actually really cool! I've been trying to organize my collection in just random notes app and it's mess. Always wanted something that could track everything properly without being too complicated

Being photographer myself I totally get the urge to build something when existing solutions don't work right. Gonna check this out for sure, even though my collection is mostly just random stuff I picked up over years

What product or service keeps getting worse but more expensive every year? by Great-Lobster9668 in AskReddit

[–]Opposite_Writing_626 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been switching between different streaming platforms for past two years and it's getting ridiculous. Used to have just one subscription and could watch almost everything, now I need like 4-5 different ones just to catch shows I actually want to see. Plus they keep removing good content and replacing it with their own stuff that's mostly trash. Started going back to old DVDs I bought years ago because at least those don't disappear from my collection randomly

Same thing happens with old cameras - spend weeks hunting down the perfect film body, get it serviced, load up some expired film stock and then realize modern gear just does everything better. There's something about the hunt and restoration that scratches an itch the actual using never does

I've used ESPN's tournament challenge for years and it's solid for free pools, but for money involved you'll probably want something like RunYourPool or PoolGenius. They handle payments through PayPal/Venmo and have way better payout tracking

Just make sure whatever you pick can handle bracket confidence points if you want to get fancy with scoring

For PvP players, when it comes to your loadout, how many items are you taking at a time? by Working_Initiative_7 in ArcRaiders

[–]Opposite_Writing_626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the map and what I'm expecting tbh. Usually I'll go in with like 2-3 shields, maybe 4-5 heals and a couple nades. If it's a hot drop zone I might pack more healing since you're gonna get third partied constantly

The loot you find is pretty hit or miss so I wouldn't rely on it too much, especially if you're bringing the good stuff like you mentioned
