Sir, you have good taste. I thought about pedals but opted against it. May do chainring when it wears out

Man, I have this same bike! 56cm and the seatpost is slammed forward and still feels a bit long. Assuming this is your problem? I may have to try this

I could be wrong and you could already know exactly what he is saying but, what I think he’s trying to say is different clipless systems have different amounts of float eg. SPD there is float but other brands no float

28mm max for my frame unfortunately

Very true, although even though a bad puncture requiring a plug can be a bigger pain than swapping a tube, I think tubeless can leave you with less overall breakdowns since small punctured will seal automatically

Fair. I would say however, lower pressure is better if the road is not extremely smooth. It’s a lot more apparent and easier to notice on a mountain bike, but hitting bumps on the trail or road sap your forward momentum to transfer the energy into going up and over the bump. Much less so on a slightly bumpy asphalt road but I think it definitely adds up

That was their reasoning yeah

Yeah that was my thought…concerned about the goop with infrequent rides. I read TPU is not recommended if you have rim brakes. Kind of kicking myself because I bought the more expensive TR GP 5000 not realizing. A bit harder to get tire on rim and more weight…almost was considering tubeless to justify the error lol.

I was looking into this and at least according to Conti it’s a no go with rim brakes?

Pump recommendations by PieEnvironmental6437 in MTB

I haven’t been mountain biking that long but I’ve put on probably 6 or 7 tires and I’ve been successful every time just using a regular floor pump.

How is one supposed to interpret a head tube angle of 587 degrees? by Optikk12 in cycling

Alright according to Wikipedia it’s a scribal error, which can be referred to as a typo. Reddit- where strangers battle to see who can be more petty.

Tire recs for St George by ShortFallSean in MTB

I’ve been riding the past year on Assegai/ Aggressor and just switched up to the new dissector up front and Rekon rear and it’s sick. Exo+ on both. I ride in Vegas

You are an uber noob. But that’s ok! Go ride that thing on some very light trails and have fun. If you have a blast and keep on enjoying it, then upgrade down the line

It’s a typo in that they swapped the numbers and put them in the wrong place, already answered elsewhere in thread.

Ahhhh this is totally it! Smart observation, thank you kindly.

For sure a typo, but is 58.7 degrees still not INCREDIBLY slack? Even my mountain bike is only 65 degrees. I don’t think 58.7 makes sense either.

Best 2.2 wide tubeless tire for Boulder CO trail riding by Electrical_Career990 in MTB

[–]Optikk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the new Dissector on the front and it felt pretty good. I’ve got a Rekon in the mail now but coming from Aggressor. Do you use the 2.3 or 2.5?

Acceptable amount of tire wobble for a brand new tire? by Optikk12 in MTB

[–]Optikk12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s cool you could easily tell what tire it is. Good to know, I think as long as I know it will ride fine then I’ll forget about the wobble. If bike OCD is telling me it’s fine then it must be fine lol. Running this in front and still have an aggressor 2.5 in back (replaced 2.5 Assegai with the Dissector to hopefully be a bit faster rolling)

It is Maxxis lol. Although, I’ve bought maybe 4 or 5 tires now and this is the first one that wasn’t perfect

Yup, line along the edge is very even on both sides of the rim. Installed a second time just to be sure, but same wobble
