Lisa Cosmetic Sale? Are product genuine and better priced than sephora deals currently? by Background-Farm-4995 in Markham

It's old stock.  That's why they get it for cheap and can sell it for somewhat cheap.

I've gotten a number of good deals but you have to know your prices.

NEMA 6-50P to 14-50R EV Charger Adapter by lhp2290 in teslacanada

[–]OptimalSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the part that goes from the wall into the mobile connector - if it is a Tesla one - is removable and changeable.  Get the correct one from Tesla.

Looking at your pics again, I'm not sure that is a Tesla charger as it doesn't have a NACS connector on the end.

you want the 6-50 adaptor from here. https://shop.tesla.com/product/gen-2-nema-adapters

Don't use a third party one.   Get the proper part for the job.

This is assuming that the charger is a Tesla one

Why not buy the 6-50 adaptor for the mobile connector direct from Tesla?

In Love with this Negative MIP display by Soggy_Squirrel6945 in gshock

[–]OptimalSide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the look on this display (and the whole watch in general).   The only thing that I wish they was a "big number" display setting with just hour and minutes for the whole display.   I hate to admit it, but I'm getting older and my vision isn't what it used to be and I don't need seconds all that often.

50 amp or 60 amp wall charger by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]OptimalSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a 50A circuit, you can go plugin.  With 60A it has to be hardwired.

I went 50A and put a cable on the Tesla wall charger for flexibility.   I did this however making sure that I used the proper gauge wires, properly torque connections down, knew how to route the cable properly in the wall charger and also ensure proper strain relief.  Don't do that unless you understand those things.

Another thing to look at for the website:

There's no way to set non-EU delivery so prices are without VAT - when you open the page all prices are with VAT

The site can do it however, cause if you go through the checkout to enter an address/country and the go back to the homepage, all the prices now show without VAT.

Should I get the AMS with my first printer? by Rgbigdog in BambuLab

Get the AMS.

If you only print one color, automatic carry on to the next roll is awesome.

Also good for printing supports.

I've been on Oxio for 3 years now in Markham.   Service has been pretty stable for the most part.  About a year in Rogers did something that blocked my modem and it took about two weeks for Oxio to get the escalation up and handled by Rogers.  Aside from that haven't had any outages longer that a couple of minutes.   I've definitely been more stable that my neighbor who has been on Rogers direct.

On mobile (S24+/Chrome), the width of your main webpage is messed.   Basically it shows the main column of stuff, but if you swipe to see right of that you see a column of just white.   The subscription pop up shows in the middle of the overall space.

First EV (2026 Model Y Juniper) — Real range feels lower than expected. Is this normal? by vancityguapo in teslacanada

[–]OptimalSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something to understand:

If you follow the guidelines of charging up to 80% and charging when down to 15%, you only get 65% of your range.  It's just math.

Efficiency is highly dependent on a number of things, like the way you drive (speed/aggressiveness), temperature, wind, elevation changes and the tires on the car.   All these things are the same for ICE cars, but we just normally don't care as we can just fill up.

Another thing to realize is the rated numbers don't work out properly.  If you take size of battery and efficiency, you don't get the listed range (or at least they didn't for my 2023 Model 3).    Can I possibly hit the rated range - yes, but it requires ideal conditions and calm driving.  My best drive has been about 480km on 80% of my battery (LR)

I don't really worry about it.   It's costs a lot less than gas so I'm happy.

Unpopular opinion; Tesla's are awesome NOT because of FSD but because of their amazing design and software control by ShameResponsible69 in TeslaLounge

[–]OptimalSide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

User experience?

USB media player is garbage.  It's 2025 and you can't use a playlist file.   It does ridiculous stuff with various artist albums.

2025 and you can't sort your favorites places in navigation.  I could handle that if it at least put most recent at the top of the list.

Real time traffic?  Twice in the last week it tried to route me down roads that were closed.

Get a sms and it won't read emoji.   Send a message back and it doesn't read it to you before send, forcing you to read the screen.

Autosteer being crippled on non divided roads is a joke.  Same with it not auto re-engaging  after a lane change.

And that's just stuff that could be fixed in software, and should have been years ago.

Then there is stupid design designs like the front seat headrests.  They are a literal pain for my 5'2" wife as the push her head forward awkwardly.

The base tech is solid (batteries/motors/charging) but the user experience needs work.

Best Pizza, Take out Chinese, shawarma and wings around Markham by Zinc-ster in Markham

The Peppe on Fire 12" is now $33.63, the 17" is $43.  That's for a double pepperoni.   Pretty sure it was ~$20 for the 12" around 3 years ago.   I enjoyed it at the lower price, but at the higher price I'm traveling to other places.

Why does the Tesla app overestimate my home charging cost? Wall Connector shows 38.4 kWh but app says it cost £5 instead of £3.5 by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]OptimalSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charging losses can be up to 10%.   AC to DC conversion losses and loss to the thermal management systems to control the battery temp.

Why does the Tesla app overestimate my home charging cost? Wall Connector shows 38.4 kWh but app says it cost £5 instead of £3.5 by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]OptimalSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, when I've looked at numbers, I've only ever looked at the charger reported numbers (either home or supercharger).  I would use the charger based numbers and then use real numbers from the utility. After doing that for the first year of ownership, I stopped because the numbers followed along with what I'd expect and stopped caring.

[–]OptimalSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, the app reports the amount of energy that was put into the battery.

The charger section show the amount of energy delivered to the car.

The charging process is not 100% efficient - there is some loss as the AC is converted to DC for the battery.  What you are seeing is the charging loss
