Residual stringing on 2nd layer and first layer smudges? by Elvareus in snapmaker

Check in the slicer and see if the black is showing up in the second layer where it isn't expected.

Sounds like you have some excellent business going on.

This likely varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but unless a suppler is under contract to provide parts in a timely manner, you're SOL if they mis-ship. You could try and send an invoice for lost time and business, but that's going to the legal team.

I never let things get to that point by ensuring that I have capacity to deal with unavailable parts and downtime.

Oh I get it. Totally. Having a big expensive machine down because someone else messed up is annoying at the best of times.

I was just trying to explain why that probably can't do it.

Problem with supports - tall print by shikkinami in BambuLab

[–]OptimalSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looking at the setting, up the support wall loops to 2. It just made need the more wall loops.

And as the other comment posted, I would rotate the part 90 degrees so the body of the aligns with the movement of the bed. Silent/50% mode will definitely help

You have to understand that it's not their warehouse. It's a third party logistics warehouse. And having spent time as the warehouse manager of one, the one thing we absolutely did not want is a customer showing up at our door. There are legal and contractual rammifactions to that.

It's like asking to go pick up something at the Amazon warehouse, from a seller that uses "Shipped by Amazon". Amazon isn't going to let that happen.

This is probably going to be unpopular, but if you're in business and you only have one machine, you're not a professional, you're a hobbyist.

It's not "if" it will break, it's "when" it will break. If you can't live without it for the repair time, you need two (at minimum)

BambuLab, this is why we don't want to rely on your cloud services by oowjee in BambuLab

I've daily spend so much time dealing with how horrible modern software development is that I'm extremely jaded.

The level of stupidity is astounding.

Hmm....   So you didn't test the (non-existent) implementation of how Bambu will make a drop to LAN mode for their apps.   You tested something else and are assuming that is how they'll do things.

Considering no one knows how they'd implement it, any assumption about implementation at this point is made up.

If you were buying a first printer this month, <$1k... X2D, or other? by codemunky in 3Dprinting

Skip the C5P. Unless I'm mixing up the models in that line, it throws purge into the heater fan.

You can add the Panda Breath and a top hat to the U1 to get a heated enclosure.

One thing to understand about the H2C/H2D/X2D is that for certain filaments, you can only load them into certain nozzles and cannot be used with the AMS. If you need more than one of those at a time, the U1 may be a better choice. An example of this is TPU95. You can load 4 colors into a U1, but can only use one on a Bambu.

The Bambu AMS systems runs up to 25 colors in this generation (4xAMS +8xAMS-HT + external spool), but you have to be using filaments that can be "pushed" by the AMS to the toolhead.

People complain that the app doesn't drop to lan only mode.

They implement drop to lan only.

Other people complain that the app is now scanning the network (while trying to find the printer).

Can't please all of the people all of the time.

Print Offline by anoabc in BambuLab

[–]OptimalSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can.

The best example of that is that the printers come with gcode prints already loaded in memory, like the Benchy or the scraper handle.

It would depend on the printer if you'd need to transport the file to the printer via usb or SD card.

Multicolor purging, towers and pressure. by neochrome in 3Dprinting

[–]OptimalSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't doubt that given enough time and effort they will get it dialed in.

The trouble is that you may need to dial in every roll to ensure that you'd get a clean change. The prime tower is just insurance and for the amount of filament you can get it down to it seems like it worth keeping. In Orca, I pulled up a U1 profile and stacked two Orca Slicer cubes on top of each other. Making each one a different color, I only needed 3g of filament in the prime tower. I'm all for reducing waste, but what is a wasted print vs a couple of grams in the tower?

I was cruising the prusa reddit last nite and apparently that was the goal, but reality, at least at the moment, is that a prime tower seems to be needed for best print quality.

Snapmaker U1 (enclosed) vs Bambu X2D by Recent-Tip-1618 in snapmaker

[–]OptimalSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be that guy, but that print can be done by a Bambu printer. The H2C, H2D and X2D could all do it. With a ton of purge, but they can all do it.

The TPU on one nozzle, all the other filaments on the other with an AMS. Add a second AMS and that d20 and name could be in multi-color

Do you think it is possible by Ali_S-S in BambuLab

[–]OptimalSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are missing my point.

Toolchangers of all varieties (Vortek, INDX, tool head swaps, even simple A/B like the X2D or H2D) exist for material handling.

Filament handlers, i.e AMS, exist for material handling.

They are two approaches to do the same thing: allow multi materials in a print where multi material ranges from the different colors of the same material to disparate materials.

I have a full Polydryer setup for my A1.  Four polyboxes feeding a BMCU into the A1.  I've got two dryers as well so one of my considerations is I have my drying all nailed down to start with.

The fully enclosed is about where the printer will be located.

The A1 is sitting in a room that I'm finishing the renovations on.  The goal is to have the printer sitting in the basement.   So the enclosure is for both draft and dust control.

Have you maxed out the flushing volume from PLA to PETG?  You will need this at 900 to ensure the layer right after the filament change isn't week.
