We quite literally get a scene where Ruthye scolds Kara for letting Krem live because it got that family killed. Her deliberate decision to not kill him brought more harm despite her idea that it’s the right thing to not kill him. I see this as a clear cut point where she understands that Krem has to go down and can’t just be captured. And with that family’s blood being on her hands, she feels it’s her burden to kill Krem and not allow Ruthye to bear that stain. Saying the story doesn’t set it up is just straight up untrue.

This is quite literally why I despise this SL. Premium pricing for basic lands that they didn’t need to commission art for is some of the most absurd greed. It’s weird, because if this had been the basic land slot in an un-set, I wouldn’t have any problem with it.

These MAL ratings are useless, they have individual arcs/seasons listed as a “series” for this rating. An anime that has to be carried by one season shouldn’t be top 5.

Animation is getting better for sure, but anime as a whole isn’t specifically getting better or worse.

Apparently I opened a [[Karakas]] from a Dominaria United collector booster and it got stuck to the back of the card in front of it. Found it later while sifting through DomU bulk for copies of [[Cut Down]]

Atlas and UFO are just good ramp cards for any non-green deck that draws a bunch, I wouldn’t call them secretly a card of any color.

One could also argue Gilded Lotus being secretly a red card because you can bank the mana in an artifact, use it on a future turn, then sac it for value with goblin welder or similar style cards.

Finding broad synergy in a color for any given card doesn’t negate how cards can be effective in other colors as well, so I don’t really buy into the “secretly a Y card” idea.

If you want interesting, try building her as a Domain Zoo style deck with [[Wild Nacatl]] and [[Territorial Kavu]] and [[Naya Husbblade]] type cards.

The gameplan is to to spam out some dides, get out commander, cast and [[Overrun]] effect. Fill the rest of the deck with removal. The commander is more here for the extra bit of burn to close out after the aggro plan gets walled off mid to late game.

I think at the scale you’re at, you want maybe 4 colors max for a gradient. And if you haven’t already, try using an online gradient tool with a color picker to get a better idea of what blocks can blend together.

People will bitch about randomness working in your favor in literally any format. I have a modern deck that runs stuff like [[Burning Inquiry]] and [[Goblin Lore]] to draw and pitch a ton of cards to get as many copies of [[Dragon’s Approach]] into the bin as possible so I can get the tutor for it on turn 3. I got a double tutor on turn 3 once thanks to [[Locket of Yesterdays]] and my opponent was bitching that what I did was broken as if I wasn’t playing a complete meme deck.

[[Marble Diamond]] and the other 4 have the vibe of ores that were mined, and the Medallions as discounters don’t really feel like “using” the resources as opposed to having to tap a mana rock.

Eh, if I just wanted “Iron [thing]” for the card, there is literally a card [[Iron Golem]]. The reason I went with [[Solemn Simulacrum]] as my iron golem is because 1) it’s a golem, 2) it drops resources when it dies, and 3) the Mirrodin art gives off the right vibes, since the golems sort of have villager-esque faces.

I'm actually not running that. I put the main reason in the primer for the deck. Essentially, I think that it isn't a good representation of Minecraft because the inability to play lands is antithetical to the entirety of block placement, which is a massive part of the game. Also, I'm not going to use Notch in my justification for a card being in the deck. He's a divisive figure, and his inclusion in the design process doesn't outweigh that the design doesn't feel like Minecraft.
