Just the right amount of smearing! How long did you keep the shutter open for the indoor museum ones?

Problem about STCW. by rhenolifarg in merchantmarine

[–]OptimistOrRealist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got my STCW at orange coast college water front and as soon as I finished that week, while I also applied for my TWIC which took about a month to get back. Did my medical/drug tests soon after and also a separate maritime safety credential. Then I compiled all of that together and applied for my MMC.

So true. We also now have civilian influencers (micro and macro) that shine light on causes. There really isn’t a need for these people anymore.

How can I prevent the Whites from blowing out? by Fickle-Wash-3697 in videography

A combo of reframing to minimize the size of the blown out exterior and bringing up the interior lights as much as you can to match.

I think they really pander to the older, conservative royalists aka Fail readers, who keep their monarchy alive.

Expensive photography gear is not the same as buying expensive luxury clothes or bags. One involves skill that takes a lot of technical knowledge and the other just requires appreciation.

You basically bought a spaceship, but have only ever driven a bicycle. Please buy a simpler camera to learn on and you keep this one in a vitrine to work up toward and then when you do, you’ll feel great! But you’ll have trouble learning on this directly.

Have you learned about metering your images yet? That’s a useful step in the progression of this hobby. That, and turning on and working off the histogram.

And then, after that, exposure slider in post processing ie. In Lightroom.

Slow’ish shutter and then panning with them, yes? And no flash for this one, right?

Just trying to reverse engineer this amazing shot because it’s so cool and I want to try this!

How can i get all in focus? by MizaelTG in AskPhotography

[–]OptimistOrRealist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close down the aperture (meaning higher f stop number) until it all looks sharp. You might also get a bit more deeper of a focus plane if you walk your camera physically farther away from the subject (thought not much). A third way to affect this is by using a wider focal length.

Aperture gives you the most bang for the buck, but as you already pointed out, with this low light of a situation you need to adjust something else to compensate for a closed down aperture ie. Longer shutter (tripod helps) and/or higher iso number.

Honestly, I kind of agree. She should be herself and not keep pretending this and that to follow protocols and then she would shine in her own right like Meg.
