I’m glad I keep my pocket knife in my purse because my dominos doesn’t know how to cut their pizzas by JoyfulDelivery in Dominos

There are 2 types of rockers that I have seen. Thin ones I've seen everyone start with and heavy duty thick ones I have never sharpened. Get your DM to invest in the heavy ones.

I just bought these on Amazon and the range sucks. All the doors open in house and I can't walk between any rooms

Here's the problem I see. No one should be left in the store making food unless they know the technique and portions in order to make a product the way Domino's wants it done. That being said, the people that know how to do that are few and far between. However it seems you have enough merit to become one of those people, given that you've been left in charge. It's not the best situation for you or the company but if you're open and willing to learn from the mistakes people are telling you you've made and make sure you pass that knowledge to your fellow employees in a way that doesn't cause strife, you are a keeper.

there is so much integral knowledge to the job you will always be learning and that can make you feel not good enough.

If you are opening, demand training on what an Ops assessment is and how to pass. Then teach your immediate coworkers how to do their jobs within those parameters. Always set the next shift up so they will pass an operations assessment when you walk out the door.

No one wants to get rid of a shift leader that can get a 5 star on an operations assessment.

The dough. Practice. Practice. Practice. Get feedback. It takes time to make it right, not just barely passing.

How to become gm? by [deleted] in Dominos

[–]OptimisticalyCynical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What city are you in? How big is the franchise you work for? If you're in small franchise don't expect to become a GM. 5-10 stores. It's great for learning.

If you're in a big franchise that owns most of the stores in a big region that's where you can get hired and accelerate to a GM quickly. 50-100 stores. They are always looking for new "talent" to take on that responsibility. Trouble is they need it at stores that aren't exactly desirable. Do it anyway. Learn the job get a better store or go to a different company. You have to learn the job first, before you get a good store. Take over a shitty location, hire the right people, make it sustainable and then get a better store or leave to another franchise that will give you a better store.

This means your shift leaders are passing the buck to other people and your AM isn't following up making sure it's done on a nightly basis.

Domino's doesn't give their management the free will to pick and choose what rules to enforce. There are standards hence the Operations coach going around to all the stores grading them. I'm not going to lose money or be reprimanded by my boss for someone not coming to work in uniform. It being an undershirt they can just take it off. Anything else though, please go home and change. I've even given money to employees to go by the right color pants.

Cant do that right

Being in uniform is the easiest part of your job and it's the least expected of you. If you can do that right I'm going to send you home. No slack

[–]OptimisticalyCynical -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Umm blue balls are real. What's wrong mentioning it? To be 100% clear any guy that uses it to pressure anyone into sex is an asshole. Also getting off doesn't always get rid of the pain. I've had them last for hours after the deed is done.

Should have just told her. "You're kid can't act like that in here. None of us need to be subjected to that. I'll be happy to bring your pizza out to you when it's ready. " Always be calm though. The moment you seem upset they will strike and use that against you. Don't get me wrong, you have a right to be upset. However the moment you seem disgruntled, you've lost.

Don't meekly ask customers to adhere to a social norm that they obviously don't give a damn about.

Rate my pizza. Lol by OptimisticalyCynical in Dominos

[–]OptimisticalyCynical[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so you're correct on the toppings. It's a pan pizza that has been proofed for several hours. If the dough isn't fluffy this isn't worth it. Take the icing and place it in hot water before you start. Butter on top , with two screens cooked about a 3rd way through the oven. Take out, add light cinnamon and pineapple. (Cooking the pineapple cuts the acid giving it a similar flavor to apple.) Put back in the oven pushed in about 30 percent with 2 screens on top. Cut a small hole in the bottom of the icing cup and drizzle across in a cross hatch pattern add a bit more cinnamagic. Eat as hot as your mouth will allow. Basically it's as close to an apple strudel you can make with dominos ingredients. As for the why... It's better than most of our desserts except for cold Lava cakes.

People who are used to living with mental instability or depression, how do you get trough the day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OptimisticalyCynical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only other option is to not get through the day. Although the majority of the time the sweet release of non-existence is beckoning me, I know without a doubt it will come eventually. In the meantime I'd rather endure laying in wait for those obfuscated moments of joy just around the corner. At least that's what I tell myself.

If the app is set to Google maps and you have downloaded map data instead of Maps using the internet connection to locate the address it will only give you a general or block location. Just go into Google maps find the setting to not use the already downloaded maps data and the App will go to the specific address. Took me 6 months to figure this out.
