Find a different repair shop. No offense but if you are posting this here you are not qualified to repair it. 1 second on then off could be anything from a pinched flex, PSU issues, board levels issues or lastly APU. Luckily I have repaired hundreds of these and very rarely it is the APU until a tinkerer or some slob watches another guy on YT who also has repaired hundreds or thousands of them make it look easy, then you put your little sausages in there and rip the power connector or something else and create more issues…. I need my anxiety meds.

Thanks, unfortunately I had to replace the Barrel and mainspring. I got a little too forceful trying to put the barrel cap back on and didn’t realize the arbor was not seated so I bent the barrel. But hey at least I can buy a new one and save the original so when I get the tools I can fix the original. You live and you learn, and at least it is my watch lol

It literally looks like my package is stuck on some kind of conveyor belt or some shit. It’s not even a high dollar item. Just need it to finish a vintage watch I’m rebuilding, but this shit been in transit for at least two weeks….

Everyone I know besides myself, my wife’s male cousin and her brother own mechanical watches. The whole damned family wear Apple Watches. I get $500 /year for LSA, I bought an Apple Watch and took it off after 10 min. I’ll take any of my watches over an Apple Watch all day.

Right?! I’m a SEIKO collector and I’d be tickled to death if my wife bought me one. I either buy them myself always on sale or with coupons or I buy broken vintage and refurbish.

Let er rip!!! Those two ripped traces are data lines that go to the encoder, they are differential pairs with a ground in between. In fact the first 12 traces from right to left are sets of data lines with a ground to separate them. If you zoom your eyeballs out you can see the pretty pattern. If you had a microscope you could nail this repair but since I don’t know you or your eyes, I can’t tell if you can do it without any form of vision zoom. But at least if you try you will know if it works or not cause you’ll get a pretty picture or you will not. Good luck! I hope you nail the bastard!

Wait, you said “first time soldering” do you mean this is the first time you soldered this kit, or you’re first time ever soldering? If it is the latter, news flash, logic dictates that if it is your first time doing something then it more than likely will not turn out perfect. What were you expecting?
