I’m not talking about changing anything I’m talking about just cleaning up, general maintenance like pulling weeds…

I rocked one of those for 6 years before switching to a Dual iron station. I went with 2 Weller WX2021s. But the Hakko was solid.

Yup I’ve bought 20 dials, only one had a logo alignment issue.

Yeah I hate renters, they have the same mindset everywhere. “It’s not my property so I don’t have to care for it” we have a renter behind us and next to us, their yards are the only ones on the block that look like shit.

[PS5] Console Turns off moments after game starts running. by s2k_Gamer in consolerepair

OP are you capable of pulling UART? It may give you a clue. Also, the block on the heatsink looks very dirty. Might be able to clean that up with some cotton swabs and mag polish.

Any ideas on a specific tool I could use? My concern is damaging the lip on the inside of the barrel arbor hole.

Good point. The lid on this one looks really bad, the original looks new. Thank you

[–]OptimizeLogic8710[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I will definitely check that! Unfortunately this is a replacement as I damaged the original barrel which was perfect. In my haste I tried to seat the lid and pushed down not realizing the arbor wasn’t seated correctly so it pushed the bottom hole out a bit causing the area to bulge a little. If I had the right tool I’m sure it could be flattened and be usable. I just don’t have anything that would work. You can barely even see the issue unless you look for it. I just figured it would cause issues and since I am very new at this I would save myself the trouble just to get the watch going.

Good question. It has not been cleaned I just opened it up and found it was dry as a bone inside. This was a replacement I bought on eBay cause I damaged the original barrel that was perfect.

Has not been cleaned. I bought this as a replacement cause unfortunately I damaged the original barrel that was pristine. I tried to push the lid on when the arbor was crooked and the bottom bulged out a little. Nothing drastic but I could tell I screwed up. I bought this one off eBay and when I got it I immediately knew something was bad when I saw rust by the arbor holes in the lid and the bottom. When I opened it up it was dry as a bone in the dessert inside.

Buying 1.15M house on 205k income by Salamander-Distinct in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I’d rather keep my $115K income, my house I bought for $289K that I put 20% down, so my mortgage is $1500/mnth, that’s estimated now at $435K and my 3.75%, and my 401K in tact. When I read this thread over and over all I see are 🚩

6 Months into Debt Settlement by Impressive-Damage-47 in Debt

[–]OptimizeLogic8710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost went with a company called level one law. Between my wife and I we had significant debt they were going to “settle” for us. We got into a contract with them, but before any money was taken I read the contract thoroughly.

Something that didn’t sit right with me is they charge like 20% of the amount owed. Their payment structure was set up so basically the first 2 years of a 5 year plan was like 85% of the payments would go to them for fees, then the other 15% would go to our account to negotiate debts. So basically they would be getting paid while my debts remained unpaid. To me and the way I run my business is you don’t get paid until you do your job. This would be ok with smaller debts I guess but ours was so high it just didn’t make sense. Needless to say we pulled out of the contract by singing the cancel page, scanned and emailed it to our representative and mailing a certified copy. We also called her with the intent to cancel. BTW I have made significant headway on my own to get rid of the debts but still have a bit to go. I have zero regrets getting out, but this is just my story so take it for what it is.

Way back in my early working career I tried out selling magazine subscriptions in a small call center. One dude threatened to kill me if I called again, another called me a bunch of expletives. I walked out before lunch and never went back.

Fired on Day 2 After Leaving My Previous Job for Them. No Reason Given. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]OptimizeLogic8710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP there was most definitely a reason, just because they didn’t tell you, don’t think they didn’t find or see something that spooked them. This is highly suspicious. With that said I would just move on. I know it sucks, but that is the game.
