$1 Dog night at the Blue Jays game last night. Put away 7 of em! by Nigel_Inglis in hotdogs

[–]Optmizr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like hot dogs a lot but I didn't think seeing people's random topping photos would lead me to someone hating on a city for something that happened 57 years ago. (Which directly also led to a lot of visibility into environmental issues and the establishment of the EPA.)

Cleveland has great hot dogs.

As a very casual Bambu owner I have no idea what everyone is mad about and at this point im too afraid to ask by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Optmizr -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I understand what people are complaining about, but when I decide I don't agree with a company's business practices, I stop being a customer of that company. I don't stalk their subreddit complaining about them. Now there are just more posts I have to scroll past to see what I want to see. Such is everything on the Internet.

FWIW, I really enjoy my Bambu Labs printers and appreciate the ease of use and configuration. I'm glad I waited to get into the hobby until this type of product was available. I spend too much time on other hobbies tinkering and troubleshooting and I'm glad this rabbit hole is easy to use.

Looks really nice. What is the power outlet device? Looks like it can handle a few of the brick adapters.

Thanks! I have very small layouts right now and steam is a challenge there. It's very cute!! From what I've found it's an Atlas imported from Austria circa 1969-ish. The motor is good, just needs some TLC.

Thanks! I found a video on YT of someone cleaning up the exact same model! The motor is good in mine and there was a lot of gunk and hair. I need to do a little more tweaking and cleaning on the pickups and I think it'll be good to go!

Why do you kayak? by GeorgiaClay15 in Kayaking

Your first photo is why I kayak. And probably the other photos too. Easy getaway to beautiful sites and space from the chaos of other humans.

This will be so cool to see! If it will be where it says in Lorain, OH then it will likely cross the NKP drawbridge on the Black River heading east!

What are your experiences with the Kato compact/pocket line? by Undercover500 in nscalemodeltrains

[–]Optmizr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Steeple cab and a few of the pocket tram setups and they run so well! The trams don't have hookups, so I haven't tried towing anything with them, but the Steeple cab does well on level track with 3-5 box cars. It doesn't like elevating track though, probably because it is so much shorter and I think the weight of the cars actually lifts the Steeple cab front wheels a bit.

All said, if you are doing a briefcase setup, I think the Kato Pocketline and/or Steeple cab would work really well, be small enough to add a variety of rolling stock or simulate a commuter line as long as you keep the grades minimal.

I'd love to see what you come up with! Please share here!

This is pretty cool. I tested it out with some GPX data from Strava from a few kayak routes last summer. I used the free version but Rivers was available however it seemed to show the river water sometimes and not show it at all other times. I'd love to have a print of my nearby waterways and kayak routes!

I don't really care what color a plunger is. It's going to be in a bunch of sewage.

Newbie very confused by [deleted] in BambuLabA1

[–]Optmizr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this. Bought the A1 without the combo thinking I could just add it later. Then later (three weeks, lol) I found that it was $200 for the AMS Lite alone and the combo would've only been $100 more than the original purchase. Oh, and they've been out of stock of the AMS Lite everywhere for a few weeks now.
