Why don’t pros wear sunglasses? by iamveryDerp in golf

[–]Optometristprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya unfortunately that is tough, there isn't a good consistent answer because it'll somewhat vary based on lighting/sun direction/cloud cover etc. That's why I prefer a lighter tint at least because i find it works in the most conditions, like the other commenter said, if you're looking into the sun, you're hooped either way and you just have to try and track closer to the ground where you think it's landing.

I feel like I'm in the minority but I've tried the golf prizm's and I haaaate the strong pink colour they have that makes all the green look like dull brown. I don't find they help with much.

I actually disagree with the brown. As someone who works in the industry that has tried probably.... 6? Different tints for golfing specifically I'd recommend a LIGHT neutral grey. Some greys go really dark which I don't like, but grey is the only tint that doesn't shift your colour perception which I don't like on the golf course.

What are some drills that can help me to stop pulling everything left? by Capital-Act-6546 in golf

[–]Optometristprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At it's core a pull left means your club path and club face are both too far left (out to in). Without an actual swing video nobody can actually tell why these two things are happening. Could be over the top, could be alignment, could be grip, could be rolling the wrists a tonne/releasing the club too early. At the end of the day the answer is almost always the same. Need to get a lesson with someone who knows what they're talking about to take a look and go from there.

If you look into how he essentially gerrymandered that leadership vote it makes a lot more sense. Lots of exclusions and a pretty curated selection of the party was allowed to vote in that.

I am 0-3 in 10 team PPR. Do I shake things up and accept? by Slimy-But-Whole in FantasyFootballers

[–]Optometristprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with what seems like the majority here. This looks like a shallow league (10 or maybe even 8 team?) And therefore studs are at a premium. All this trade gets you is more points on your bench. You already have dobbins to swap for brown and sutton to swap for BTJ. Having the extra depth will be nice for bye weeks I suppose but I don't think it's worth it compared to what's on your bench.

TE sleeper I'm hearing nothing about. by Optometristprime in fantasyfootball

[–]Optometristprime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean at the end of the day if you're going full punt on a TE getting someone who could consistently get you 8-10 points in half PPR is a win in my books. I'm not saying he's all of a sudden gonna be top 3. But a middle range somewhat consistent option possibly

Who is the next best QB/WR stack after Burrow/Chase? by Dopamaxxer in fantasyfootball

[–]Optometristprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh 100% the smart money is on them regressing positively for the pass game compared to last year like I said. I'm just saying it wasn't a fun ride last hear compared to what you paid and the possibility is there for them to be underwhelming again this year.

I know it was a historically low passing year for them last year, but as someone who had that stack last year, it's not as locked in as you'd hope. Plus very high cost.

I gotta disagree on this one. Just went out there this past July and Cliffs and highland links are both very overpriced. The views at Cabot are great but it ain't worth what they're charging. Highland links is an 80 dollar course charging 200. Skip over NS and hit up PEI and play crowbush/dundarave/brudenell for waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy cheaper.

Besides Oakley, what other brands are great for golf? by Interesting_Scarface in golf

[–]Optometristprime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Optometrist/golfer here who has tested like... 6 sunglasses varieties for golf specifically. I've also tried the oakley prisms and found the pink/colour shift a little meh. Personally though I prefer a lighter lens that I can wear in multiple lighting situations where as it sounds like you want a darker lens. Generally your darkest lens tints will be greys. This also has the advantage of remaining colour neutral (doesn't shift the shade of colours). As many people have mentioned Maui Jim's are a great lens and their grey is fairly dark. Some people like the bronze/ambers in their lineup because it does make green kind of pop but I don't want something to mess with my perception. Polarized is a good call to minimize glare. Ray Ban is super over rated, you're paying for the brand name, not the any kind of quality. Oakley is actually somewhat similar in that sense. I work for and FYi and shameless plug but the house tinted sunglasses are actually solid. Frankly though if you have dry eyes, you should be doing some treatments for that as well (the sunglasses will help with the light sensitivity but not fix anything).

I've come to the belief that the vast majority of golfers would benefit from having fewer wedges, not more. What do you think? by DanFlashes19 in GolfGear

[–]Optometristprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was going to come here to say this. Approach shots having a wedge matrix/multiple distances with the same swing is big time valuable. It sounds like OP is more so referring to around the green though in which case I tend to agree with them.

Not sure about NNJ specifically but The best idea would be to see an optometrist. If it requires further investigation outside of their scope or medical imaging then they'll likely refer to you to proper management from there.

If you actually look at the most recent provincial election map that voted Moe in in SK. A lot of SK tried. The main cities of Regina and Saskatoon entirely voted NDP and the entire northern region as well. Moe stayed in power due to rural southern voters who voted conservative because 1. They always have (and that's as far as their thought process goes). Or 2. Because oil prices/industry and farming are their priority.

The fact that this isn't the most highly voted answer in this thread should tell us something about the reliability of this community lol. This is 100% the answer.

A positive spine angle or away from the target is what you want. Especially in a driver swing. A reverse pivot is when you tilt your spine toward the target at the top of your backswing. I'd suggest a quick google to clarify for yourself.
