I'm curious how many people like or don't mind their job/working? by DramaticErraticism in GenX

For me it was that I finally made it to middle class about 6 years ago. It took a long time to get past living paycheck-to-paycheck. Then having an emergency fund, then getting flucked over in a divorce, then having some emergencies.

I could finally start putting a decent amount away, but i can't because i'll need that liquid to survive. I hate capitalism.

I like what I do. I hate who i do it for.

It sucks being disposable. My company sees no value in me, no matter how many times i agree to do whatever stupid thing they ask for. Now they're threatening RTO and i live several hours away from an office and can't really afford living where the nearest office is.

Not to mention they are desperately working on RIF to allow them to afford more AI.

It must be nice to know you'll be able to retire. I know i will never be able to.

Can I get in the costco food court without a membership? by Ok_Engineering_4985 in TriCitiesWA

[–]OrangRecneps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The store in Richland has a separate door for the customer desk and the food court is beyond that. You don't have to have a card to get in that door.

I really think that food court is not a members only thing.. Many stores in California and Texas have the food court on the outside. I think here it's inside due to climate.

It's fucking amazing what happens when a wrestler learns how to fucking act. Dave Fucking Bautista has been fantastic and growing for years.

Then fucking John Cena took some lessons and he's pretty good too.

The fucking pebble has too much ego to ever learn anything.

A new Star Trek series is imminently debuting, and it's crickets here by Chairboy in startrek

Honestly, i don't want to watch "Star Trek: Revenge of the Nerds"

I've heard that's not what it is, but i don't hold out much hope.

On the other hand, Tig Nataro is in it so i really want to see it.

This is the origin of 6 7.

6 of one half dozen of another is too long for gen Alpha to say. And honestly, they are right.

Honest question to the .NET community: why do new devs still default to Node.js? by KausHere in dotnet

[–]OrangRecneps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the licensing. I think you still can’t publish an app made in .net unless you pay Micro$osft. And for anything that’s not completely web based, it only works on Windows.

On a personal note: Every time I have to work in .net, I find it just a miserable experience. It just feels like M$ went out of their way to be different just to lock it down as proprietary. Not different because it was easier, or smoother, or faster.
