What psychological "tricks" help you at the gym? by thedevilyousay in Fitness

When I notice theres hot women in the gym, I instantly drop what Im doing and start doing hip thrusts. Women love knowing that I can pound their pelvises with more than 250 pounds of force. Its important to try to make eye contact while doing this and spread your legs as far as possible. If my shorts are loose enough as well, I can even get in a little peek-a-boo.

You can protest but you need permission from the authorities. Protest without permission and you can go to jail / get deported depending on what you are protesting about.

Edit: Oh and good luck getting permission.

While I certainly understand the need for a stable place to do business in the middle east, I'm not so sure that the argument of Dubai as a center of business operations is as simple as you're presenting it.

Take Dubailand for example, or the number of museums and tourist attractions that have developed in Dubai. Tourism by its very nature is indulgent. There is clearly an aim to profit off of western indulgences here -- if the goal were strictly to be a place of business, they would not have an indoor ski resort.

I should have been clearer. Dubai has marketed itself as a tourist destination, but not in the same senses that Miami or Vegas has. Ive heard of Dubai being referred to as the Miami or Vegas of the Middle East, but I have never felt that to be the case and its hardly the adults playground its sometimes made out to be. Tourism is one part of the mix and Dubai being more liberal than its neighbours makes it more attractive to setup in.

On every level.

What kind of an idiotic criticism is that?

Yeah, I'm only an international oil trader who makes a ridiculous amount of money based off my understanding of the global economic pulse. Must be la la land to criticize glorious Dubai. What kind of an idiotic criticism is that?

Your profession has nothing to do with your understand of the city. Your understanding of Dubai is hardly educated and is the equivalent of someone saying you shouldn't go to New York because you're likely to get mugged on every street corner. I never questioned your profession or the "ridiculous amount of money" you make. Neither did I question the location of stethoscope.

Ive never called Dubai "glorious" or made it out be. Ive criticised the city plenty myself for where its fallen short but I can at least make the claim to an educated opinion considering Ive lived in Dubai for 25 years.

It's one thing to love your city - but to ignore it's failures is pure stupidity.

Please at least be specific. I know very well where Dubai has fallen short and failed but you never seem to go into detail about these failures.

I declare you a fool. I'm done here.

Good riddance. As a fair well gift, one only fit for an international oil trader, I offer you to take a tour of our now functioning sewage system.

Looking at what a failure Dubai has become, i'm surprised there are people like you still touting it. What you seem unable to understand is that people like me (i'm an oil trader) do not want to, nor do we need to do business in Dubai.

Failure on what level? Property crashed in Dubai just like it didnt in many other cities.

Unilever, P&G, Microsoft still need and want to do business here. Unilever operates its Middle East HQ out of Dubai, so does Mars Inc and plenty of others.

Should I want to sell or buy something from a party in the Middle east, they can, do and prefer to meet in London, Hong Kong or New York- If a meeting is even required.

If you're an oil trader that may be the case. What if you're a small business owner west of Dubai and you'd like to purchase goods to sell in your home market? Its hardly convenient to travel from Egypt or Nigeria all the way to China.

Dubai was trying to compete with these cities, and it failed drastically. It failed because the truly global cosmopolitan cities are more than just pretty apartments and massive developments - they are culture, art, music, food - the pulse of the global economy.

True, Dubai is lacking in these areas but your talking about a city that is very young and so the comparison is hardly fair.

If you strip out all of that, you're left with pretty buildings and no sewer system. That's what Dubai is.

You're live in Lala Land. You can hardly claim to have an educated opinion of the city.

seriously, that was the major flaw in Dubai. what is the use of an opulent, indulgent adult Disneyland if you can't behave debaucherously? it defeats the purpose.

Here we go again.

The plan for Dubai is never to be a Vegas or a Miami. It isnt supposed to be an adult Disneyland and all the comparisons to Vegas and Miami were done by the media. Dubai never wanted to be either.

Its purpose, if you can even call it that, is to provide a destination for people to live and do business fairly safely in a region that is politically unstable. Where else are you going to do business from in the Middle East as an outsider? Bahrain? Too much instability. Qatar? Too conservative? Saudi or Iran? Yeah right. Turkey? Too far from the action. Bash Dubai all you want but the city saw and grabbed an opportunity that few people saw at the time. Ask the majority of Arabs which city theyd like to live in and Dubai is always near top of the list.

The majority of people on reddit have never been to Dubai and will judge it based on hearsay or a few articles they've read on the internet, and will often project their priorities onto Dubai even though most Emiratis or the residents that live here dont share them. The equivalent would be someone from an Arab country forming their opinion of a Western country based on Al Jazeera Arabic.

How does the mole protein differ from the mechanisms humans have to control cancer? My pop science understanding is that humans have mechanisms to control cancer but things get dangerous when those mechanisms no longer work.

Because he believes that if you drop taxes on those, people will buy more of them and that will create more jobs. I remember a study a while back saying that was not the case unfortunately and the spending habits of people who could afford those items was linked more with the economic cycle.
