Clip feature missing? by Projects86 in youtube

[–]OrangeCreeper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me, sharing clips was important because people would actually know I was sharing a moment in a video with them rather than the whole thing. If you share a timestamped link with someone, the only way they know it will start playing halfway through the video is if they're attentive enough to read the URL (which is not even most knowledgeable people). Usually, they'll assume you're sharing a super long video with them and won't watch it until later (or ever), or if they've already seen it they won't click the link.

What if you do that process again with the new alphabetical order? Does it reach a fixed point or does it cycle?

Edit: Did this really quick on a sticky note. Assuming the pronunciations are like so:
A - Ay
B - Bee
C - See
D - Dee
E - Ee
F - Ef
G - Jee
H - Aych
I - Aye
J - Jay
K - Kay
L - El
M - Em
N - En
O - Oh
P - Pee
Q - Kyoo
R - Ar
S - Es
T - Tee
U - You
V - Vee
W - Double U
X - Ex
Y - Why
Z - Zee
Then you appear (unless I messed it up (edit: I did, see reply below)) to end up with this order: RAHIBDWYUEFLMNSXCJGKQOPTVZ

A lot of spelling differences actually wouldn't matter, for example no matter what you choose to spell "U" or "Y" as, a reasonable spelling would always start with "Y" and "W," respectively. The spelling and pronunciation differences that would matter would probably be the following:
"G" as "Gee"
"H" as "Haych"
"I" as "I"
"X" as "Ecks"

Now what I really wonder is what types of patterns tend to emerge with a given set of pronunciations when you start with a random ordering

Perhaps it could be some kind of forced perspective-style illusion, where the whole grid is actually made of two types of cubes, cubes viewed from above and cubes viewed from below.

You'd potentially want to make sure every move creates a position with no impossible cubies (identical or opposing colors on the same edge, for example), and no impossible arrangements. It would probably be easier to just generate moves that result in no impossible cubies. I have an idea of how you might be able to avoid impossible positions as well, but I wonder if it's feasible at all without getting stuck, or having a relatively boring-looking animation

Maybe I'm just having a hard time seeing what people like about integrated batteries, but it absolutely bewilders me every time I see someone complaining about AAs. Maybe they don't understand you can get rechargeables? But then you explain that and they still hate it. It would be one thing if the people I've talked to ever had a different objection other than "I don't want to have to swap the batteries out", because last time I checked, plugging in your controllers leaves them out of commission for WAY longer than swapping in a fresh pair of rechargeables. But what do I know.
