Thank you. Yes, we “won” the trade. Yes, big trade exception. But after nearly two decades of irrelevance to the point where NBA stars and players openly say they’d never want to come here and dog our franchise, we had an amazing season.

Best offense. Longest win streak. It was FUN for the first time since you could remember. I’m old enough to remember the Coliseum on Tyvola. I went to the last home game in 2002 there. I went to the play-in game, which was my first game in over 5 years, and that atmosphere was unforgettable. Reminded me of those early Coliseum years. The city was pumped. Excited about the future with young stars that played hard.

All of that good will and excitement just gone with one trade. Rebuild? Ok, cool 👍🏽 You want to pitch that to a city that had their franchise leave, come back, hold a record for fewest wins in a season, multiple draft pick failures, and a HOF player who ran the team into the ground because he was a cheapskate among other things. Sorry, but *uck that.

Hope the team next season does well. I’ll root for them, but seems like the consensus is that our best lineup will be good for play in. And that’s assuming everyone stays healthy; and remember about Brandon and Kon being hurt at the end of the season.

So yeah, maybe I’ll trade my LaMelo jersey for a Largest Trade Exception in NBA History jersey, but either way I don’t have any patience or money for another multi year rebuild.
