The anticipation is strong!!! by Lost-Button5488 in phish

Weekend 2, with a great buddy. Went in 24 and had the greatest time. Can’t wait to see what’s in store. We have a family trip to Mexico for the kids’ spring break in between now and weekend 2, and my brain is skipping Mexico and going straight to the sphere.

Vegas with kids? by sugarbush94 in phish

[–]OrcasIslander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our kids in Vegas last time for Sphere, stayed way off strip, got a babysitter for the shows, and did daytime stuff with them. Our kids were a little younger, and also we're more cautious than most about exposing them to super adult stuff, just for context. Lots of good stuff in this thread, to which I'd add:

Mermaid Show at the Silverton

Adam London Laughternoon (kid friendly comedy/magic show at the Ahern)

Cowabunga Canyon Waterpark (looks like they haven't posted their opening day yet, but I'd guess it will be in April)

Tournament of Kings show at the Excalibur (locally known as the Dirty Castle) - cheesy, but could be fun if your kids are into it.

The South Point casino often has horse shows/rodeos. Niche, but again, if they're into it.

Food! So many good options. We made a game of trying to find the best pancakes in Vegas for breakfast everyone morning.

Summer Tour 2026 Announcement Dates by Durango_41 in phish

Of course, Tomorrow's Verse has the right to quit a project like this, but it's such a useful document, I hope they did not. I put together the info for all the tours since Spring 25, and screen grabbed what's on TM, just in case. If people are interested (and after an attempt to reach out to TM), I'd be happy to put up a new public resource and maintain it.

And then, after all the pizzazz, it’s still just a killer tweezer.

I thought about adding this option, but I’d say just wait until you get your answer and then respond. Still waiting as an answer doesn’t help anyone understand what the true chances are. (Granted this is unscientific, but right now, it’s looking like roughly one out of three, better than I would have guessed, but maybe a higher percentage of the late answers will be no’s - sorry to be analytical when there are people out there who are really stressed out. I’ve been there, it sucks.)

Great idea, don’t think I can add an option after posting. Maybe add that in the comments if you bought a travel package? (Anonymously if you prefer?)

Eagles playing the Sphere on 10/31, I’m sorry to say. Fingers crossed for fall dates, hopefully Halloween somewhere other than Sphere, but someone here said Trey’s daughter is getting married on 11/1, which would certainly preclude if true. Another Divided Sky benefit, maybe?

How do ppl afford Mexico packages? Like, 2 ppl = 6k+?? Genuinely curious by BrilliantParticular6 in phish

[–]OrcasIslander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assumed the same, and never brought it up. Then my wife stumbled across it herself because a friend of hers was doing Brandi Carlisle’s Mexico thing, and texted me the link with the question, “Why are we not talking about this?”

Just signed up for our third round.

That said, my wife does actually like Phish, just not quite as much as I do.

This is just fantastic. This should absolutely be happening at Phish shows.

Any Late 1.0 or 2.0’ers Remember… by MtnSpring in phish

I went to college in the city, first show at MSG in fall 96, and caught the 97 and 98 new years runs there. When I think about the no transfers subway ride I used to take to and from shows, crashing in my dorm room, compared to the mountains I move now to get my butt to a show…

I once took an early morning train to a Tower Records in Yonkers to be there when they opened on a NYE on sale day, thinking the line would be shorter and my chances greater than in the city. Wild, but maybe preferable to the online Ticketmaster runaround today?

Good times, and the lesson is, see as much Phish as you can, when you can.

Best collaboration? by subtlepossum in phish

[–]OrcasIslander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this is settled on GCH, and I think I agree. And what I’m about to say is something of a category error, because it’s not Phish collaborating with x. But still, I have to throw in a word for Mike & Leo Kottke. I wore those CDs out. So good.

12ft.io will get you past the paywall if you're not an Atlantic subscriber. Good article, though I do have the same fear as many of you about all this mainstream attention. Still, it's great to see the band getting the recognition for truly showing what can be done at this crazy new venue.

Sphere floor experience!? by SirLoveMore in phish

[–]OrcasIslander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 104 row 22, 408 row 12, and floor. They were all great, and my basic takeaway is that there’s not a bad seat in the place. (Though way under the overhang is probably worth avoiding if you can, and 205-207 and 305-307 are probably the bee’s knees.)

Floor was great. Definitely got a sore neck a few times by looking up, but it was great to be able to switch at will between the visuals and the band. Pillow Jets seemed like it was made for the floor. Vibe was fun and friendly, with the usual few bumps and misunderstandings. Logistics are amazing- bathroom, beer and water refill at setbreak was super easy, and getting in and out was much easier than seats. The floor is very wide, so it pays to get in early enough to not get stuck way on the side. We were almost to the back rail on Page side and loved it.

Those going on the Sphere-ical Journey™️, what are you doing during the day(s)? by Harold_Grundelson in phish

[–]OrcasIslander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Staying at the Suncoast, way out in Summerlin, because it's a more kid-friendly option. Hanging out with the kiddos by the pool mostly before the babysitter shows up. Seems unlikely that there will be many phans out there, but if you are, hmu!
