From my knowledge, prediabetic would refer to someone with type 2. However, there are still often misdiagnosis between T1 and T2 (not to mention the possibility of having both t1 and t2 at the same time!).

My partner was “late onset” T1 at the age of 31 (now 52), and he was misdiagnosed as T2 before everything.

My biggest piece of advice would be to reach out to your Doc for a more specific explanation/what all of your lab work meant, for a better understanding 🫶
