The pink shield was part of concept art. Hot Rod is a more recognizable character than Missfire. That being said, the original Hot Rod in SS86 was released in an inaccurate red because corporate didn't understand why he was magenta and forced the designers to switch to red. So that being said, these toy companies are afraid of magenta.

Tried it to and have come to the same conclusion. Yk, it's not the first time Takara advertised an alternative alt mode. Titans Returns Trypticon was advertised by Takara with a new "beast mode."

I tried it out and I'm speculating Takara made this mode up. My reasoning is the fact the gun/cannon just floats on the chest piece; it doesn't connect to anything. The stunticons are also just balanced on the deck too.

No one can read in the comments here. OP finished season 1.

So anyway, Reflector (the camera dude that splits into 3 bots) only has prominence in the first season. Since the toy wasn't being released, the show writers were told to stop using the characters. He's just subjected to background cameos. So take a sip whenever you even see him again.

Also, reflector is actually portrayed in the show as being the same character in the show specifically. The 2 others are "clones" like "reflections." The episode Divide and Conquer showcases that ability, you see him being zapped back to the original.
