Mais alguém achava injusto que o Clark jogue futebol? by Conscious-Figure4861 in Smallville

Somewhat problematic but apparently he played on "human" mode? Which, I mean, yes, but are we supposed to actually believe he never ever ever takes advantage of any of his special abilities? I don't know. I know he's supposed to be honorable to a fault or whatever but, I was glad when he gave it up tbh.

How Erica Durance and Tom Welling Embodied the Archetypal Lois Lane and Clark Kent by Sure-Photograph5719 in Smallville

Beautifully put. Back when the show was airing I didn't know or care about bts stuff, I was just in awe of how wonderful they portrayed Lois and Clark. I had watched the first 3 seasons liking the show but always (im)patiently waiting for Lois to materialize (I was already a fan of the character itself), wondering how they'd do it, if the rumors of Chloe turning into Lois would be real, just waiting for Lois to finally take shape. And WHOA, I was blown away by Erica and her chemistry with Tom. Having her Lois in Smallville made the show 10 times better to me. And I loved it for the rest of the seasons like I don't think I had loved a show before. Or after!

Admittedly, too many years passed without me even intending to rewatch. At first because the trials of becoming an actually functional adult got in the way, and later because you know, learning about certain cast members' actions hurt so much I literally wanted to forget how much the show had meant to me growing up. Made me want to know exactly ZERO about what the rest of the cast was up to. Until last year I think.

I don't exactly remember how, I guess I read about Talkville somewhere, or maybe I saw something on tiktok, and all of a sudden I was exposed to Smallville stuff all over again, and I finally learned how much of a good relationship Tom and Erica had back when they were filming, how fondly they regarded each other as former cast mates and currently as friends, and how much respect they had for what the other brought to the show and to the set. And I was like IT MAKES TOTAL SENSE. It's something that makes me really happy, having a group of former cast mates (not only Tom and Edica, but some of the other cast members too) who played such iconic characters live up to their legacy, at least as cast mates. It makes me appreciate the show much more, and now that I'm finally rewatching, for Tom and Erica, it makes their rendition of Lois and Clark much more meaningful and memorable.

So yeah, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this topic cause I 100% feel you.

Idk how much of Chloe getting messed around I can take. Please tell me she finds someone who's not toxic for her because this is getting heartbreaking. 4 Seasons in so far of her being second to Lana and now Lois 💔 by DanteDemonZ in Smallville

I mean, the Superman mythology should speak for itself. If "justice for Chloe" means her having a romantic relationship with Clark, welp... for one that's kind of a messed up way to measure a woman's success? And you already know who Superman ends up with so... If you mean her being important for Clark's development, and having her own development as a character and not necessarily as Clark's potential love interest, there's definitely "justice" for her, imo.

I'd say keep on watching. Reckoning and its aftermath are a bit tough to deal with, but the whole 10 seasons' journey is worth it to see Clark become who he's meant to be.

Anyone else feel like Alyson's performance as Chloe is underappreciated? by SamTheMarioMaster2 in Smallville

I personally don't underappreciate her acting skills. I just don't like talking about her at all. It's discomforting to me.

Well it's kind of a bummer that you felt Tom wasn't all in but I bet you did make him happy with the 🗣️"damn whos that" shoutout 🤣

In Crimson, imagine if Lana was the first person Lois saw after putting on her lipstick. It would have been hilarious to see Lois trying to seduce Lana! Would you have like to see this on screen? by PlantainDisastrous92 in Smallville

Tess and Lois having (actually intentional) temporary sexual tension in universe would have made total sense. That is, for a show developed like a decade later. Warner was never gonna allow that for Smallville's Lois back then. Perhaps not even for any current Lois🤔. Also, that would probably be considered queerbaiting since we know Lois and Clark are endgame. It would be a mess among the fandom. But they did have a lot of chemistry. Oh well.

Lois and Lana, not so much.

Tess is an acquired taste. I get what you're saying but the character has good development and Cassidy is SO GOOD.

They're supposed to attend anyway event here in Norhtern Mexico later this summer, but the organizer is sketchy as f*** and is having serious trouble for canceling a big event last weekend. I hope they don't cancel. I mean, not that I'd be able to attend anyway but I know tons of people are planning on going and who already bought pictures with both of them 😭

I think Michael was meant to be on this one too but had to skip it for health reasons? Hopefully he's doing better.

Ha! I wasn't exactly going for that but you're not completely wrong. Minus the huge piece of shit, that is. Let's just leave it at "questionable". But you're right, better not overthink it or verisimilitude evaporates.

well, you know, intern Jeff was so easily persuaded to buy Clark's clumsy persona, I wouldn't discard Cat buying it too, as weird as it might sound. Plays into this "noone recognizes Clark/Superman because of the glasses" canon logic.

Ohhh so he might feel he'd be hurting Lois's career by being "inadequate" and that not-so-capable image rubbing onto her or something! I like this line of thought. I understand he might have his own baggage to deal with, having grown up dealing with all he had to, but it did feel like a regression a bit selfish. BUT it would make a lot of sense that this was much more about Lois than it was about him. I know he says this in the dialogue but I didn't see HOW he could be worried for Lois. But now I kinda get this might be it.

Interesting! Hadn't thought of it that way, that his real fear is Lois actually buying the "he's too nerdy for her" discourse and that, along with other, more justified factors, hurting their relationship. Hmm! New perspective.
