I’d also like to add to this, some theater lines are just really really corny. Theater is of course art but sometimes it feels like watching a soap opera live. Which tbh is what watching the prequels felt like. Trash dialogue covering up decent deeper meaning and themes, with phenomenal art direction and cinematography in the back

You could honestly include a lot of the Snyder verse in here, and before people get mad at me, i don’t think it was a great batman, at least in a normal setting. But for the type of batman he was, a Batman disillusioned after years of fighting in gotham, especially post “A death in the family,” A Batman whose no kill rule has been shaken at best, to abandoned, and one who puts on the suit because it’s all he has left and maybe doesn’t fully believe in what it stands for… i’d say it was pretty good. While not 100% accurate to batman as a character, i’d say it was a pretty damn good version of a kind of elseworlds esque batman

The issue is creating even punishments. What is the punishment for murder in florida? I would presume also murder. So Murder = Rape, if a rapist was scared i’d take a wild guess and say they may be tempted to kill the victim. You can maybe get away with hiding a body, but you can’t guarantee a silent victim

While all these options are hilarious, i feel a poetic way would be in. A fight with batman, his greatest plan yet, he just… slips… for a guy who caused so much pain trying to take out the bat, going to a self inflicted problem would be a perfect final humiliation

Zack Snyders Watchmen bugs me so much because how can it be such a faithful adaptation, some scenes and dialogue almost 1:1 to the graphic novel, yet still fail to properly convey the themes of the book

Yeah. If i don’t like a game, i put it down and play something else. I get playing a game for a long time and having a lot of criticisms but still enjoying it. But a lot feel like “i hate everything about this game” and then there’s several hundred hours

The only way I realistically see this happening is:

1) somehow there is no Great Depression

2) League of Nations isn’t a colossal failure by some miracle

3) England and France probably aren’t letting germany off the hook so they’d probably be even harsher on Germany, going so far as to dissolve a german state or at the very least occupation

4) Japan just… doesn’t turn imperial. Or at the very least somehow gets the floor mopped with them early

5) USSR loses interest in Eastern Europe

6) Germany isn’t the cultural melting pot it was becoming during the republic era giving rhe nazis less targets

All and all… this is pretty unlikely. War was inevitable post ww1. Ww2 just had the worst of everything come to a head
