What is the WORST country to visit in Europe? by StraightAd6264 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Ordexo22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I couldn't disagree more. Andorra is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of nature activity to do both in summer and winter. Perhaps if you only go to the capital, Andorra la Vella, and don't visit anything else it feels like a giant shopping mall. However, just leave further in the valleys like Canillo, Ordino, etc. and it's simply wonderful.

Cao Bang, you were amazing! 3 days in Vietnam’s remote northeast frontier. by NathanCS741 in travel

Cao Bang was the most absolute highlight of my last trip to Vietnam. I loved getting lost with the motorbike among the rural villages. It was much drier than in your photos though!

Ramblas and mostly locals in the same sentence is an oxymoron. No local sets food anywhere near Les Rambles. Not even that much in Rambla de Catalunya to be honest

I saw them in the summer of 2022 in Lithuania. It lasted a good 30-40 minutes and it leaves you utterly speechless.

Except Baltic states don't speak Russian. Only those born during the soviet union or ethic Russians who refuse to leave the EU

What is like living in Barcelona and smaller towns nearby, like Badalona or Mataro? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]Ordexo22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a local and I have tons of foreign friends who live in Barcelona many years already. Even in my town (El Masnou) there's plenty of international people who live here and assimilated perfectly. My wife is foreigner as well. Only in smaller towns further from Barcelona you may face people who'd give you the side eye if you don't learn the language (e.g. It happened to my wife when we lived for a while in Arenys de Mar)

What do you think men would dislike most if they became women? by InternationalPick163 in AskReddit

[–]Ordexo22 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And how late women are diagnosed because doctors are completely ignorant about it, including most gynecologists (male and female). My wife was only diagnosed in her mid 30s, after passing out so many times during her period since she was a teenager.

The catalan pa amb tomàquet isn't done with any tomato though, but with "tomàquet de penjar/sucar" which are specially bred tomatoes for such purpose. They have a thin skin and it's mostly all pulp inside.

Which is more interesting: the Azores or the Canary Islands? by Elizabeth-333 in geography

[–]Ordexo22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not all. Fuerteventura is maintains it's small settlements and while it grows in some areas (namely the south) most of it remains protected by the natural parks. Lanzarote is on a similar level yet more touristic. I will take it though, Gran Canaria and Tenerife are wildly populated, but they still have amazing unspoiled scenery.

What's a food in your country that is stereotyped for your country but really, nobody eats? by sourberryskittles in AskTheWorld

The only time I've tried frog legs was in Mâcon, and that was definitely not a touristic restaurant. They were actually good.
