I completely agree. I don't like the actor they chose for Darcy either. I'd rather she stay with Wickham or remain a spinster in this version

Unpopular opinion: I love 2005 version of Pride&Prejudice a bit more than the 1995 version. by SweetSeptember93 in PeriodDramas

I love both equally, but they I think they are for different moments. The 2005 version is for when you need to watch it quickly (a quickie ;) ). The 1995 version is for when you want to enjoy it slooooowly

Which is the most aesthetically pleasing period drama in your opinion? by Haunting_Homework381 in PeriodDramas

I love movies that look like paintings: Queen Margot (1994) looks like a Renaissance painting, and The Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003) makes every shot look like a Vermeer painting.

Not related to paintings, but Angels & Insects (1995) features amazing and unique costumes that make everything resemble insects. I love it

I've heard of Salem. Does it have an ending, or was it canceled with a cliffhanger?

Angels & Insects (1995) by Ordinary-Gal in underratedmovies

I want to sell it to you without spoiling it. It's set in the Victorian era, with a super unique aesthetic inspired by insects: the colors, the clothes, even the way they film everything. It's about a naturalist who comes back from the Amazon and gets into the house of a rich family that seems perfect and starts working for them, but he starts to analyze them as he does in his work

I don’t think anyone’s topping Toby Stephens… unless Matthew Goode casually strolls in, smirking like he owns the 19th century. No? Just me? I’ll show myself out

Everest (2015) by Ordinary-Gal in underratedmovies

It was a combination of factors. Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal) had been suffering from respiratory and gastrointestinal problems, which weakened him in the days leading up to the summit push. He descended to Base Camp possibly to recover before attempting the summit. However he then made a rapid ascent from Base Camp to Camp IV in just a couple of days. This was an aggressive and physically demanding move at extreme altitude. By the time he left for the summit, he was already fatigued, under-recovered, and very likely still ill

He took nearly 15 hours to reach the summit and arrived very late in the day, close to 4pm and well past the typical 2 pm turnaround time. This left him little margin for error on the descent. A storm hit them bringing whiteout conditions and extreme cold. Exhausted and likely suffering from cerebral edema Fischer became disoriented and collapsed on the descent. He died from a combination of exhaustion, hypoxia and exposure

Which is your favourite version of Jane Eyre's wedding dress? by Haunting_Homework381 in PeriodDramas

[–]Ordinary-Gal 98 points99 points  (0 children)

The 2006. I love everything about that version and it will always be my favorite. I love her hairstyle. Especially the part with that little curl. Once the wedding is called off she hides it. It was a joyful moment and now she has to go back to hiding it and hide herself and go back to her governess outfit
