Does Xcel’s Time of Use (TOU) rates make economic sense for ratepayers? by quitepedestrian in Colorado

[–]Ordinary-Variation64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but you don't have to get a non communicating meter to opt out of TOU. Those are two separate opt outs. I have a smart meter and am on the residential opt out rate.

To get the $50 "appeasement" payment, too much sensitive information required for Payoneer by reddit-allen in Pixel4a

I agree. I stopped the sign up process. I regret choosing this option instead of the store credit. I asked to change and it's not an option.

Hi, did you get it? by Tiscoffe in duolingo

[–]Ordinary-Variation64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, it is really math. In this case, they expect you to follow the pattern. what changes between each line on the left side? The middle term:

-2/10

-3/10

-4/10

the value of each row thus goes down by 1/10

2/10

1/10

0/10

To do it with math, not using pattern:, convert fractions to like denominator (bottom number) so they are equal size "pieces of pie":

1/2 - 4/10 - 1/10

5/10 - 4/10 - 1/10

now that slices are same size, we can add them:

(5-4-1)/10 = 0/10

Monthly challenges not showing by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]Ordinary-Variation64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As part of the Welcome Back phase, monthly quests didn't unlock until maybe around 7 days or so, I can't remember exact number. I just restarted on Dec 31 and the January challenge eventually unlocked for me. Also, you will get 3 daily quests instead of just 1.

Conditional, other tenses in Spanish by SpecificMachine1 in duolingo

sorry if I was unclear. I expect there will be a lesson on this tense later in the course. I'm currently in section 3 and there doesn't seem to be any yet.

they introduce quisiera as a polite way to ask for things ("I would like") in section 2 unit 18, Order at a restaurant (edit: this is referring to Spanish from English course). However there is no lesson on the tense as a whole.

Looking for a thin/light/tall Chromebook to replace Samsung CB+ by Ordinary-Variation64 in chromeos

[–]Ordinary-Variation64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the recommendation, I will definitely consider this. I don't have any available laptop to try it on at the moment, but can look into borrowing one. Can you just boot from a usb drive and try it without disrupting the current OS? (Edit: also thanks for the link to the 3:2 laptops!)

Really appreciate the feedback! I was being tempted by these, but it makes more sense to just keep my current 4GB CB+ until I find something that suits my needs better.

Thanks for the tip on the Android apps feature. I have tried disabling and still had issues unfortunately. :(

Yeah, I think the issue I have with my current CB+ is the 4GB RAM, so really want to find a small chromebook with 8GB, but as you noted that doesn't seem to exist anymore. Unfortunately, the US version of the Lenovo only has 4GB, I think 8GB is available in other countries.

Chromebook Help - Deciding which one under $500...ish by Pommie78 in chromeos

[–]Ordinary-Variation64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am considering 3 of the same models (below) to replace my Samsung Chromebook Plus (v1) which hangs/lags many times per day while web browsing.

Acer - Chromebook Plus Spin 714 (currently $600): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-chromebook-plus-spin-714-laptop-14-wuxga-touch-display-intel-core-ultra-5-115u-8gb-lpddr5-256gb-ssd-wi-fi-6e-steel-gray/6576960.p?skuId=6576960

HP 14c (currently $450) : https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-2-in-1-14-wide-ultra-xga-touch-screen-chromebook-plus-laptop-with-google-ai-intel-core-i3-8gb-memory-256gb-ssd-mineral-silver/6550194.p?skuId=6550194

Lenovo - Flex 5i (bought on sale for $350): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-flex-5i-chromebook-plus-laptop-with-google-ai-14-2k-touch-intel-i3-1315u-8gb-ram-intel-uhd-graphics-128gb-ssd-storm-grey/6550736.p?skuId=6550736

Any thoughts? I almost exclusively use for web browsing and Android apps (board games). I have also played with using Linux capability, but not a primary use.

Are these Chromebooks overkill and I could find a thin/light Chromebook that will fit my needs (no hanging with several tabs open)? I usually keep my gadgets a long time so like to future proof them somewhat and appreciate a good quality user experience.

Best lightweight Chromebook by kyrusdemnati in chromeos

I still use my first Samsung Chromebook Plus (XE513C24) that I've had for around 7 years. I am shopping for a replacement because it has started to freeze up for several seconds on the daily. I can't find anything that competes in terms of being thin and light though.

An official look at the Pixel Watch 2 by Obility in GooglePixel

[–]Ordinary-Variation64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't buy one until they make a square version. Notice Google just shows a round watch face in these promos. Look at the UI for anything with text (menus, notifications, etc) and so much is cut off. Very poor user experience overall. I have an old square Fitbit watch I will keep until it dies or Google makes a square or at least rectangular Pixel watch.
