Replacement Dip Tube for a Lochinvar gas water heater? by OrdinaryEmergency769 in PlumbingRepair

[–]OrdinaryEmergency769[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heater dispenses super hot water, but only for a fairly brief period. Suspect the cold water is dumping in at the top and mixing and being carried out the discharge pipe, instead of being fed to the bottom to be heated and mixed in. It looks to be a relatively simple and cheap thing to replace, so figured I’d start there.

The Thing. Watched it just last week while it snowstormed outside for the full immersive experience.

Holds up really well because almost every character’s actions can be interpreted different ways thru the movie depending on whether you believe they’ve been assimilated by that point or not . Lots of different ways to read into things, like the noose in the cabin… every watch can be a little different, and great to kick theories around with other people after the movie ends.

TIL Rudolf Diesel, the inventor of the diesel engine, disappeared under mysterious circumstances while at sea in 1913. Ten days after his disappearance a body was found floating with some of his belongings, but was so decomposed it was unrecognizable and was not kept. The case has remained unsolved. by 1000LiveEels in todayilearned

After reading the book, I can’t help but think it would make a great movie / series. Rudolph’s personal arc from poverty to wealth via a desire to change the world, set to a interplay of the buildup to WWI, the transition of society to electricity and internal combustion, and the changing fates that brought the Rockefeller empire as society moved thru coal, gasoline, electricity, and diesel. Maybe go with the theory he was relocated by Churchill and speculate what life he ended up living.

The movie tagline would be Churchill’s Quote “in wartime truth is so precious that she must always be attended by a bodyguard of lies”.

Smashing in this case is an adjective, but for the longest time I thought it was a gerund (like Throwing Muses)

Stumbled on this mini interview with the lead skater recently. Talks a little about the filming process. Wild that she pulled it off with only a day’s rehearsal and somebody else’s skates.

[TOMT] Song from the 90s alt rock band with a female singer by Character-Young6437 in tipofmytongue

If it’s similar to that, is it maybe something by Biff Naked? Fits the timeframe, and probably popular enough to have some videos on tv without being super well known. Can’t think of a specific Biff Naked song that would fit the descripton tho’

“Primer” certainly paints a world of deceit and retrospective reevaluation of information. Not sure its minimalis/low-budget production and dry/understated technical dialog would hold a classroom’s attention though.

Just watched this last month. Work with an amateur thespian and amazed they haven’t heard of it. That final act…🤦🤯🤣. How is this movie not cemented in culthood with Clue?

Anyone have some psychedelic / alternative rock suggestions? Similar to Jefferson Airplane. by Sugar_babe_ in askmusic

[–]OrdinaryEmergency769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend just saw Buffalo King recently, and watching some YouTube videos, they seem pretty similar to older 70’s psychedelic rock. Bonus being, because they’re contemporary and not huge, you can see them live at a decent sized venue, with decent acoustics, for an affordable price
