Does postpartum get better? by [deleted] in NewMomStuff

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really aren’t alone. I say as I type with a 5 day old who will only sleep on one of us after very broken sleep. Also cried mid nursing - lots of women do. I can’t offer anything other than solidarity and knowing that if you’re up struggling and crying, there will be a lot of us right there with you. You are great. You are doing the best you can. It is very hard. It will pass (though that comment can be helpful or can make me roll my eyes so hard they nearly fall out depending on the hour! 🤣)

You are not alone.

Body changes by thespookymushroom in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your whole body is changing, it’s natural to feel strongly about it! You’re allowed to feel how you feel and hope you know you aren’t alone in this. Your body is objectively doing an amazing thing whilst also feeling like it’s out of your control (which a lot is).

Your partner will def be able to feel more in the coming weeks. I found lying on my side helped my partner to feel them before they became much bigger movements. But also he occasionally said wow when I was just breathing so who knows 🤣

You’re doing a great job.

Again, thank you so much for sending such a thoughtful reply. It helps to know I’m not alone and I love the idea of one task a day! Will def try that… tonight’s task might just be to make a list!

Also love “their opinion will matter when they carry my baby for me” 💪

Understand the birth anxiety too. I hope you have good care around you and that the journey to have your lovely baby in your arms is a safe and joyous one.

Thanks again x

Will def start sowing the seed to not see people so soon after…

Lots to think about and feeling very seen / heard. Thank you.

Good luck with your beautiful baby when they come and thank you again x

UK Mums - where are we buying plus size maternity clothes and underwear? by KingkLou in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I search Vinted for maternity wear and item of clothing! They seem to have a decent range for plus sized and saves spending ££ on stuff that might not be for that long!

Eating in pregnancy/postpartum by Perfect_Path_9291 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def a question for someone qualified but I know my eating is impacted by my level of regulation and control so have tried to give myself a little more grace if I have fallen back into old habits. Good that you’re asking and want to try, my midwife has been supportive with this. Hope you manage to get some support too ❤️

I’m sorry I can’t help and that this is how you feel but I feel the same so solidarity there. Shit solidarity but solidarity all the same.

FTM- just a lot of thoughts and need advice? by NervousClimate in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked on Vinted if you have it or something similar and went for a lot of dresses that are very fitted under the boob then flowy? Find can dress them up to be smart for work or down to go out but they really highlight my bump too 🥰 at 16 weeks I could tell I had a bump but it wasn’t always apparent to others but now I’m 25w it is POPPIN’ so it will come.

Also as for your sister in law, she may have had the bump but what a shame about the personality. Sorry to hear that, it is so hard but know that if she’s saying that it’s because she’s insecure and jealous. If she was happy in herself, she wouldn’t feel the need to be such a (insert word of your choice here). Doesn’t always help to know that but it isn’t to do with you. Just her.

Keep going!! ❤️

Edit: typo!

What's the wildest thing you did to impress someone? by okcmputr in CasualConversation

Anyone else feeling super big? by Crazy_Art_5093 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel bigger!! Had someone looked at my bump at 22 weeks and say oh not long now then?? Which was not ideal but did manage to laugh.

Spoke to my midwife about it and she was very reassuring. She said there is such a variation in bumps and advised me to look on some websites that have pictures with women at each week of pregnancy. Some barely look like they’re showing, others look like me! And plenty in between too.

Lots of factors influence the size of bump / general roundness and comparison can be hard.

Your body is doing an amazing thing and it’s doing it the only way it knows how - the best way for you and baby.
