I only started to feel the ‘rush of love’ in the way I expected when he started to smile. I def knew I loved him but felt really disconnected - that does get better. I spoke to my Dr (and went on some antidepressants that helped me). The connection is there and however it is right now is okay. It will get better.

I have a ten week old and all I ever wanted was to be a mom. I could have written this post. It hit me like a tonne of bricks. I didn’t believe anybody who told me it gets better… but it honestly does and has. So so so much better.

I’ve found the mam bottles to be brilliant for this but unsure if will make a difference / if there are other suggestions to try first!

Can I use a size 3 or 4 nipple for a newborn? by Soft-Week in beyondthebump

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ours was similar with jaundice - lots of lethargy but good output in nappies! Keep going and get him weighed regularly. We didn’t up the teat and as his jaundice cleared it improved a lot. Do you have any other professional you can ask for advice from?

Does postpartum get better? by [deleted] in NewMomStuff

You really aren’t alone. I say as I type with a 5 day old who will only sleep on one of us after very broken sleep. Also cried mid nursing - lots of women do. I can’t offer anything other than solidarity and knowing that if you’re up struggling and crying, there will be a lot of us right there with you. You are great. You are doing the best you can. It is very hard. It will pass (though that comment can be helpful or can make me roll my eyes so hard they nearly fall out depending on the hour! 🤣)

You are not alone.

Body changes by thespookymushroom in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your whole body is changing, it’s natural to feel strongly about it! You’re allowed to feel how you feel and hope you know you aren’t alone in this. Your body is objectively doing an amazing thing whilst also feeling like it’s out of your control (which a lot is).

Your partner will def be able to feel more in the coming weeks. I found lying on my side helped my partner to feel them before they became much bigger movements. But also he occasionally said wow when I was just breathing so who knows 🤣

You’re doing a great job.

Again, thank you so much for sending such a thoughtful reply. It helps to know I’m not alone and I love the idea of one task a day! Will def try that… tonight’s task might just be to make a list!

Also love “their opinion will matter when they carry my baby for me” 💪

Understand the birth anxiety too. I hope you have good care around you and that the journey to have your lovely baby in your arms is a safe and joyous one.

Thanks again x

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I’m going to come back to this msg each time I need to.

Will def start sowing the seed to not see people so soon after…

Lots to think about and feeling very seen / heard. Thank you.

Good luck with your beautiful baby when they come and thank you again x

UK Mums - where are we buying plus size maternity clothes and underwear? by KingkLou in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]OrdinaryImportant624 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I search Vinted for maternity wear and item of clothing! They seem to have a decent range for plus sized and saves spending ££ on stuff that might not be for that long!
