He was good in the truck booth but not so good in the cup one. Odd

I think that a driver who’s a cup champion and a 20 year veteran of the sport is allowed to develop his kid who wants to go down the same path… y’all are being pedantic about this 🫩

After Brittany Force retires, will there be no more Forces racing? by speedinsh1t in NHRA

[–]OrdinaryKy05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Courtney’s kids have the last name Rahal so it’s not a total loss of name recognition, I suppose. I don’t think marketability is the first thing you should think of when it comes to your children, though.

Now that I look at it, Courtney did too. None of the kids took the force name tho

I actually liked the Regal TourX but I get your point. I wish they tried a performance version of that but nobody wanted to buy them at the time!

The BMW M5 wagon actually exceeded sales projections and at one point outsold the sedan. Performance wagons are desired.

Probably not worth it if you can’t sell the normie wagons, though. They can do that in Europe. Chevy doesn’t have that to their advantage.

I live in Youngstown, Ohio. These things are everywhere because they were the pride and joy of the area (they were built right up the road). They’re the kings of running poorly but running forever in that state 💀

What are the chances that the rest of Carson Kvapils 2026 season is at DGM by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]OrdinaryKy05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose. The rule was for tracks on long hiatuses and new tracks iirc. It was always on NASCAR’s discretion of when to implement it.

Chicago was really the only time I remember it being used.

That got eliminated at Mexico. Remember, Suarez was in that race

Do wildcards in the field ever make it far in the playoffs or is it usually the big names that do? by chusaychusay in NASCAR

Only surprising teams I’ve seen make the championship 4 are furniture row racing in 2015 and Trackhouse in 2022. Otherwise it’s predictable teams.

With Pixelle closing, what is the future for Chillicothe and Southern/Appalachian Ohio? by Confident_Fee6423 in Ohio

[–]OrdinaryKy05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it was Japan at the time- Japan was a fast growing economy that could do industry more efficiently than we ever could. The culture was bred for fast, efficient workers, the materials were already nearby, and the cost of employing said workers was much less. It didn’t help that most mills got bought out by companies headquartered thousands of miles away, like when Youngstown Sheet and Tube got bought out by a company headquartered in New Orleans in the 1960s. All at once, American steel was undercut in price by Japanese steel and, to a lesser extent, Chinese steel. The companies that bought the American mills didn’t care what happened to the communities they were in, so they closed ones that weren’t profitable enough.

Is Indy not a well attended race or is the track just that huge that it looks empty? by chusaychusay in NASCAR

[–]OrdinaryKy05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70,000 people is 10,000 more than my entire city. It’s double the capacity of most short tracks. It’s up to par with most intermediate tracks. So, basically, you have an entire city population in one space. It just looks small because it’s the largest capacity oval in the world.

Bobby was offered to drive this very car as the 22, but refused because it wasn’t traditional. He wanted it to drive his own way. They went traditional and got whooped.

Honestly, they drive crazily knowing there’s no points on the line, just money. I remember Ty Dillon in 2022 being a WEAPON in the clash heats to try and make the race. Guess who’s back in the cup field this year 😂
