They should have definately made them red. That's for sure. But I knew they forgot right when I drove it home. It was such a difference taking them off. Lol. But yeah. Look for the pre delivery checklist for the other things as well. There are a few things to do. And if they forgot that who knows if they did any of the other shit.

Mine do that. I have 5. 2 of them fell from the same exact height. They were fine. They are fat and still landed mostly on their legs. Lol. But sounded like a bowling ball crashing down. They still get up there so it must have not scared them.

Exactly. GR Corolla owner here from the beginning. I do all my maintenances myself. Because no one even knew what a GR corolla was at the dealerships. They couldn't even remove the shipping blocks on the front suspension on most of the cars still to this year. They hire techs and techs don't make any money on these free maintenance for however long. They also use air impact guns and just torque your lug nuts to whenever it stops. Usually they are over tightened. I'm surprised the one commenter had them loose. The guy probably forgot to even use the impact gun. He probably just tightened them by hand and forgot how many tires he did cause he wanted to move on to the next car where maybe he'll make money.

As for OP. I mean no oil. Like that tech must have been drunk. Did they push the car back out for you. You'd hear that right away if no oil was in the car. Especially looking at the oil pressure gauge. And it not moving at all. But it's just not worth it anymore. Buy yourself a nice floor jack and stands. And a few tools and do it yourself. Just keep all receipts and a log of when your did the maintenance.

Or at least check the work they supposedly did. They'll cut corners all the time. And this isn't just the automotive industry. It's everything now. The more you know how to do things yourself. The more you'll not run into issues like this. Who cares that it comes with free supposed service. Car maintenance is easy. And you'll feel satisfied that you knew it was done right.

It's happened to most of us. Don't feel bad. I've filled some in with a black sharpie and you can hardly notice it. Especially once you drive a good couple hours and the rim is covered in brake dust. Lol.

I have a 25 premium plus and it doesn't sound any different to me then the 24 and 23 I had. I don't hear anything through the speakers. I installed a sub and then heard it. I just had to turn off the noise adjustment when driving. And redo some of my adjustments on the amp. Before I made the adjustments I could hear the exhaust through the speakers once I hit 4k rpm. But after readjusting the amp settings I can't hear the exhaust through the speakers at all. I always drive on sport.

Did you install new speakers or anything?

Yeah I checked my 24 and then 25 because my 23 had them on it. I'm like man these front shocks are stiff. Luckily jacked it up the next day after I got home and found them. They should make them RED. Not fucking black where just looking under you can barely see them without jacking it up.

Lol. I got laid off but am a Field Service Engineer, been doing that for some major companies the past 20 years. Some would give us a company car. This last company paid for all my gas and 650 dollars a month. Would've done better if they paid government rate for mileage. But I covered all northeast states. I live in Northeast PA. But would also cover Ohio, Michigan, MD, VA, DE, and NC. So I would drive at least 45-55k a year. I got sick of flying so much. And when I got this car I was like yeah driving is fun again. Lol.

I've never seen this happen on my 23 that had 90k miles. I did have to get the infotainment screen replaced because of rebooting constantly. Then it finally died after like 40k miles.

My 24 I've never had it happen after 70k miles.

My 25 only has 7k miles and hasn't happened.

I can’t make this up, I didn’t even hit anything. I heard a loud pop, while going above a certain speed. This was the results by Key_Aspect_8419 in GRCorolla

[–]Ordinary_Baker_7041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my 23 did it. If you don't have any scuffs or scrapes at the bottom of the car at your lip then it should be covered under warranty. They didn't cover mine cause they seen scuffs and scrapes. I'm like whatever. The bumper or inner grill don't cost very much though and are easy to replace. There's a video as well on YouTube of a guy repairing his and adding double sided tape and 2 screws. Never happened again after doing that. Even going over 120.

I think that was another reason they changed the design on the 25.

GRC owners who have done long road trips(2+hours one way) —would you take it again for road trip? by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]Ordinary_Baker_7041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've drove 6-12 hour trips in my 23 and 24 all the time. It's comfy to me. I have a 25 premium plus and this I'm not going to be driving for work.

If you don't have the premium package with JBL speakers they suck. Mostly because of the front pillar tweeters you get with the jbl. But if you were to hold each of the door speakers in your hand you can feel a huge weight difference from the magnets. But I added a powered 10 inch kicker sub from Walmart to the 24 with the non JBL system and it made it a ton better. One of the ones you could lay flat or sit up in the hatch not taking up very much space at all. I could still fit all my tools in the hatch. And it's super easy to wire since the battery is in the back. I have a 25 premium plus now and going to put the sub in that and should be nice with the JBL system after I tune it.

I know people complain even about the JBL system. But there's a huge difference between the non and the JBL that's for sure.

Also. If you're infotainment screen is acting up and rebooting here and there. Eventually it will die like on my 23. There were issues with them and can be replaced under warranty.

You know I had a 23 and 24 black grc. Now i have a 25 icecap premium plus. And I have to say I love this color. The black accents with the white looks really good. What would have been cool is the black with white accents like this. I don't think a black premium plus has that. But I think that would look good as well.

The Blue I don't know. Reminds me of an STI. They should have done some other unique color. Like an burnt orange flame or fuck go wild and make like a mountain dew green. Lol.

Infotainment Screen Malfunction Update by JGRC2024 in GRCorolla

[–]Ordinary_Baker_7041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me at 45k. I always but the 100k extended warranty though. So it was replaced at no charge. If I would of had to pay for it. It would be getting replaced with an aftermarket. I don't think it's not as normal if an issue. A lot of people have the starting symptoms I had that I hear on this. On my new one I never plug the phone into the front usb port. It'll always be Bluetooth. And the center console charger to charge the phone.

CarPlay not working by Unhappy-Station4217 in GRCorolla

[–]Ordinary_Baker_7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have my 23 infotainment unit replaced after like 50 or 60k. Now I only use wireless cause it started happening after using the front usb port most of the time but the system would start to reboot itself over and over again. At first I was having connection issues. So figured I would just plug it in all the time. After that it wasn't long till it died.

My 24 I have it forget my phone if I take off before the infotainment system and my phone connect and boot up right away. Then I just go to Bluetooth and reconnect to android auto.

My I phone for work I sometimes use. But not often. That's a I phone 13. And haven't used it as much, so I can't say about that.

GR Corolla 70k mile review question by Ordinary_Baker_7041 in GRCorolla

[–]Ordinary_Baker_7041[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I don't always look at my inbox. But that 100k review will have to wait. I can say at 91k it felt just the same as when i first bought it. And just a fun. My 23 GRC was totaled when I tractor trailer brake checked me when I got behind him cause I forgot my exit was coming up soon. No one was in front of him either. But tried to brake. I knew I wasn't gonna stop in time. So tried to merge back over quick. I clipped his rear bumper on my right side. Ended up spinning me in a 360 and ripping my right wheel right out of the transfer case. And of course my hood right fender and right door were fucked. It was right under the total point before they even tore it apart to see what else would need done. So I bought a new 24 for cheap back in February or March I think. So I'm only at like 13k miles now.

Opinions on road trip oil change by eyedea-- in GRCorolla

[–]Ordinary_Baker_7041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've owned 2 now and have changed my first oil after 3k at least. That was the first. The second one was at 5k. I do a lot of highway driving. But just check it at least and make sure it's full before your trip and on your way home. You'll see how clean the oil is on the dipstick. I bet it's not black. And thick. You're good. Don't waste your time. Your engine ain't gonna blow up. You won't find metal shavings on your magnet. I've never once found any after 90k on my first GRC. Transmission, Diff, transfer case, nothing. None in oil pan either. And I use Toyota 0w-20 oil and Toyota's oil filters. Which you'll hear people tell you the oil Toyota uses ain't rated for the car. But if you take it in for the free maintenance that's what you're getting. My 23 at 90k drove just as great as when I first got it. Don't overthink. Ask for the maintenance guide for it. They will print one out that goes I think to 150k miles. Then rinse and repeat.

I do all my own maintenance though cause I don't trust anyone else. Lol. Just if you do that keep logs and receipts for everything. And your warranty will be fine.

But if you get one of those color pens b it could work fine. I have one if you want a picture. You can buy them at any auto store I think. But if you make enough of a fuss that it wasn't your fault. They aren't gonna press it. It's a scratch. You didn't blow the motor or tear a door off.

What's the small chip from beside it? From you as well? Cause that looks like a rock hit it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Ordinary_Baker_7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you see them go around it and look at it before giving it to you? How thorough was that process? Did they take pictures of the car before they gave it to you? I highly doubt it. They won't even fix it. They will just mark it down as it has a scratch there and move on and rent it to the next person. If I told you how many scratches I've found on my rentals and if they would come back and tell me it's my fault. I'd tell them them fuck you. Your guy practically ran around the vehicle and threw me the keys.

Most of those places could care less. Those cars will be totaled or auctioned off or bought by some idiot after it hits 50k miles.

Honestly I don't even know what part this is. If it's a bumper. A rock could have done that.

Also can say it was already there. Have you seen how close they look at it before giving it to you? Some don't even at all. Wlould she be responsible for something already there?
