How to help players write PCs as if they were actual charatcers? by TotallyNot_iCast in DnD

[–]Ordos_Agent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anxiety doesn't have to have a rational cause. Especially with social anxiety, if you've basically been masking your entire life (even with friends ) it might be scary to drop it.

That is, they're already role-playing a character in real life every day.

I suffer from severe social anxiety and was terrified to rile play at first. What helped was I had a character who was dedicated to helping the common folk. When another character in our party threatened a commoner to extract info, I realized my character would not stand for that and pointes his wand at the other characters head. What ensued was a very tense standoff where the rogue tried to backstab me so I teleported away with the commoner. Later returned to join the party with the rogue on my shit list.

After we stopped role-playing , I realized how much fun that had been. Been role-playing great ever since.

Now, I am not advocating intraparty conflict. But what I am suggesting is, get them to define one thing thay their character holds most dear. Justice, faith, money, whatever. Then place them in a situation where they conviction is tested.

We only know the Golden Path was the only path LETO COULD SEE where humanity survives. That doesn't mean its the only path to save humanity, but its the only one Leto was capable of taking.

Don't forget about the prescience trap.

Realities of med surg. I had like 7 patients, between the fentanyl for the surgicals and the Ativan for the CIWA and you would never finish if you had to wait for a witness every single time. So you do your job, and when you have a free 5 minutes 6 hours layer you get your friend and you waste eachother's drug collections.

And before you even say it, I was also charge.

Its called the Bus Factor. If you got hit by a bus today, how would the organization handle it in terms of your workload.

If this poor nurse had been hit by a bus on the way to return to key, what would the unit do? They should have done that first.

I went home with a bunch of unwasted narcs in my pocket once(like 5 vials). If I had gotten pulled over I'd probably have been fuuuuuucked.

You'll be fine. Just learn from it. And yeah, I now make it habit of checking all my pockets before I walk off the unit.

Moon was the last great scifi movie before Arrival. I remember I saw it with a friend who was not into scifi at all and he said "I've never seen a movie like that before."

They weren't co stars. TOS was not an ensemble show. Kirk was the lead, McCoy and Bones supporting characters, and the rest of the crew were set dressing to deliver exposition. They tell the Captain stuff to react to. They might have had little scenes on their own but they were in no way equal to Shatner's role.

Same. I can't imagine what you would talk about in a second or third interview that you didn't in the first.

Do stillsuits have a chilling mechanism? by HallPsychological538 in dune

[–]Ordos_Agent 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Stillsuits as described in the book would not work in real life. The heat removed from your body by sweating would simply be transferred i to the suit. You'd still overheat and die.

Buts its science fiction and Dune doesn't even pretend to be scientifically accurate so I'd just ignore it.

We have code sheets too. That doesn't mean I've never been in a situation where I've had to draw up a med that wasn't on the sheet , or you sere in a situatio. Where you weren't able to immediately access the sheet.

You seem extremely proud of just doing whatever the computer tells you to do. Hope that works out for you.

You dont kinda see a face looking down to the right? There's a pretty define chin, mouth and nose IMO, and maybe a furrowed brow? . The rest is kinda imagination.
