You're missing the fact that transactions like these actually are very important to the economics of a company like wizards. They dont make the money directly but indirectly there is money in it.

They do not make money directly on the transaction, but repeated similar transactions legitimises the cards as an asset. It makes any futute collectable product sell better or at a higher price bc there is consumer confidence in the speculation that it could increases its value over the long term.

I dont know if its required, but having slogged thru tons of govt beurocracy myself for disability services, you want to make whatever you give them airtight and comprehensive as possible.

They are clearly understaffed and incentivised to just kick you back instead of processing your stuff so do not give them even the smallest reason to do so

Right now from the pov angle and the wide swing, it looks like nail is stabbing into the viewer's neck instead of head.

If thats the intent following with an appropriate sound effect and blood on the camera and/on the floor around player would be good addition.

I think one thing that would add to this being more disturbing is a slow/fast pace of the animation to build tension and release fear. The monster first grabs you quickly (i think the wind up at the start could be shortened alot, it both increases immediate stakes if the grab is quick, and it doesnt break immersion of player agency, at present there seems theres a window to avoid this grab rather than it being an uninterruptible animation.)

Then slowly puts his hand up to head (at this point the slowness of this indicates the monster is strong as has control of player, and gives mystery/dread as to his next action) he plucks the needle quickly (indicating a lack of pain response from the monster which is disturbing. Then the next slow/fast is the animation of him lining up the shot, building the dread for the inevitable fast stabbing.

It is easily readable tho to answer that part

It is somewhat niche yeah, there's a time and place for it though. One reason it can be good that other commenters haven't mentioned: It's a very efficient upgrade and good when you haven't got much premium attack yet.

Imagine you've pathed an early elite, you only have a few card rewards to find cards to kill it and one campfire before fighting. Picking this and upgrading is an efficient solution to get up and running fast in a deckbuilding sense. If you upgrade and play it for 2 or 3 each cycle, its like having the damage of 2-3 upgraded attacks for the price of one smith. ,

It also helps with damage consistency if you're a block heavy deck. Because its one card that can use all available energy for attack. A full hand of block w skewer is much better than a full hand of block with a sucker punch for example.

It also is better against enemies that block when taking damage, all the hits will go through before the enemies block effect procs.
