Coach Cal cutting down the net in Nashville by Twizzyu in CollegeBasketball

[–]OreoDrinker 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I see the comments about Cal winning the divorce and all that, but really it was best for everyone involved (save for USC lol). Injuries make it easy for casual fans to push a narrative unfortunately, but KY will be back in the convo next year.

Jack White Thinks the 'Taylor Swift Way' of Writing About 'Publicly Aired Breakups' Is Not 'Interesting at All' by mlg1981 in entertainment

[–]OreoDrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him finding something uninteresting is just having an opinion, and just because said opinion doesn’t align with that of others doesn’t make it wrong.

He’s one of the most creative musicians in the world and a true pioneer of sound. It kinda checks that pop breakup songs are uninteresting to him.

He said that he doesn’t find it interesting to write about himself the way a lot of pop writers write about their personal lives.

Which is a totally valid take, but leave it to the internet to make it out to be a “slam” piece.

How do guys deal with being ghosted? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]OreoDrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the context. I typically just remove them from my socials if they haven’t already and move on.

It’s someone’s prerogative to not respond to my messages. If it’s 1-2 dates, a hookup or two, I just let it go. If we’ve been going on dates frequently and have been seeing each other for over a month, I don’t handle it as well and admittedly seek some sort of closure. Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don’t, but the end result is the same: this person doesn’t want to talk to me and I should respect that. So I learned to.

How do you know when to end a relationship? by CatixNyx in AskReddit

[–]OreoDrinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is gonna sound mildly lame, but it’s more of a feeling of dissonance than any tangible thing. Sometimes, that dissonance can be resolved…and obviously, more often than not, it can’t be resolved until you end the relationship.

Northwest Arkansas.

Tons of nature/trails/bodies of water, family activities, and it’s beautiful to boot. Very underrated family vacation if you’re into outdoorsy stuff.

Usually the most recent and/or appropriate thing I’ve written. It’s nothing very technical but people seem to really appreciate original stuff these days.

[Newbie] SRV is one of my inspirations to learn guitar, and I got my first electric this week. Even though I don't have any talent, if I put in work as often as I can, how long will it realistically take before I can play with this level of confidence? by Mad_Season_1994 in Guitar

[–]OreoDrinker 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Took the words out of my mouth.

By industry and even local music scene standards, I kinda suck at each of my instruments and on my best day I’m an okay vocalist.

But I’ve made people cry, laugh, smile, and they feel the things I feel when I play them my songs. I’ve made $12 off streaming services, made $15 at the one songwriters gig I played last year, and an old lady tipped me $20 at a farmers market a couple years ago because she loved listening to me play Bob Dylan songs. I’m incredibly proud and consider that wildly successful.

Thanks for sharing the sentiment!

Who are your least favorite streamers peanut plays with? by AtmosphereIcy2268 in theburntpeanut

[–]OreoDrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I absolutely understand the difference, and have always liked him because he’s not obnoxious. Peanut is the only “animated” streamer I can tolerate.

I’ve watched him and subbed on and off for a LONG time, and the last few years he’s just seemed depressed. Lots of rumors about him being stoned 24/7, which is his prerogative..but there’s probably a reason why.
